Thinking about trying to coordinate a group from work in The Woodlands to come down tomorrow in the morning to help with tree and debris removal. Is there anyone in the Timbergrove/GOOF/Heights area that needs help? I can bring a tractor and a handful of chainsaws and hopefully a few coworkers to help out.

Text me your address and some pictures and if there is a need I'll start trying to round up a few people to help.

I'm in Timbergrove on the East side of the bayou and the streets are clear for the most part. I've seen crews working on getting trees off/out of houses and I saw a tree blocking Prince or Nashua at 14th but it was sitting on a power line so I wouldn't mess with it. Just a few days ago there were trees blocking roads all over the place but luckily that's taken care of for the most part, I think.

There are still some trees in yards of folks that haven't gotten a tree crew out, you could drive around and off to cut up & put on curb.

Good Bull...

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't been down there but I figured all the roads were clear. Looking for people that need help getting their yards cleared. I don't want to line up a crew and then get down there and have nothing to do so hoping to get a few sure fire jobs and then if we wrap those up can start knocking on doors.

Maybe call churches in the hardest hit areas? Older citizens on limited budgets may be able to use the help.

Yeah, I'd assume most posters on here have already gotten stuff at least to the curb. Doesn't mean everyone has, though.

I'm in the Heights and feel like everything has been trimmed up other than the debris haul off which is going to take a good while.

Curious how the city is going to handle it as there's a ton of it out there.

There might be a few people here and there still in need but a ton of work has been done the last 5 days as far as getting the downed trees and branches to the curb.

Thanks guys. Didn't get any texts so glad to hear that most folks are taken care of. Next time I'll just have to mobilize quicker.

It's not that you should be quicker, it's that we're just so used to this. My neighborhood mobilized cleanup within minutes after the storm.

Thanks for making yourself available, though. It's nice to have folks like you who are generous with their time and efforts.

Do appreciate your willingness.

The Gulf Coast's resolve after a storm is pretty amazing. The second it's clear and safe, people are already going to work. Nobody sitting around feeling sorry for themselves.

And it's done pretty quickly.

I remember the Wednesday after Harvey. A day after most of the water had rescinded curbs in flooded neighborhoods were filled with carpet, sheetrock, and insulation.

If it's downed trees it's trucks with trailers and the sound of chainsaws everywhere.

It's like, "Welp. Let's get this sheet cleaned up so we can get back to normal. It ain't gonna clean up itself."

Many homes in Bellaire looked like this in the aftermath of Harvey. Some wise guy staked a "Yard of the Month" sign in front of his pile.

Someone in Timbergrove spray painted that on the tree that fell in their driveway and crushed their car.

Pretty funny.

We're like ants after our mound got kicked over by a 8 year old boy.

I saw an old guy sitting on a lawn chair in Shepherd Forest yesterday who had a mangled carport that looks like he lost it in the storm. It was too big to take down by myself or I would have turned around and done it for him. Interested in helping me on that? If so I can go knock on his door and see if he'll let us.

There are a bunch of trucks and wood chippers staged at the old Northwest Mall parking lot.

Gotta believe if it's an old guy he's old school & waiting on an adjuster to come take pics & write him a check to get started.

Maybe. He looked to be in his 90s and not like he had a ton of money laying around.

They were there yesterday as well. I don't know if they have chipper though, I just saw grapples.
