Where did we get "tine"?

As far as I can tell, it's from saying "H Town" with a grill in your mouth.

Nothing to do with a grill, has to do with a certain sets speech patterns.

There are a few theories as to why Houston is called The Tine.

H-Tahn (How Slim Thug, Lil Keke and various local rappers always said it) quickly morphed into H-Tine and basically got codified into Texags Tine Board lexicon, somewhere around 2006-2007ish would be my guess?
'Tine has always sounded lame. It's the Kenny "Trill" of city nicknames.

I guess it is not glamorous to say "Tine" is derived from an overrated Houston-centric rap ditty wherein the city is referred to in ebonical parlance.
