Waited in line 35 minutes to renew to be told "only one person could do that and they weren't here. Maybe try tomorrow."
After I asked why they couldn't do it, they supposedly tried and couldn't find my box in the system. "It must be locked out" . I had to explain I wouldn't have gotten the notice from inside my box if they had changed the lock. And my box was good through the end of the month pee the notice.
Blank stare.
I tried doing it online. According to the USPS website, my box doesn't exist. Our company has only had it for 5 or 6 years as our primary mail collection point.
I went back this morning. The 3rd time I've tried to renew my box and PAY THEM at the Oak Forest Judiway location. I was told yesterday to come back at 10am and see a specific person. Just knock on the expedited dutch door and they'll help you get it sorted out.
No one answered the door at 10am. After 10 minutes of trying I waited in line for the counter to ask someone to get the person I was supposed to see. Only to be told to knock on the door no one has answered. Went back and did that again for another 10 minutes. NO RESPONSE.
Back in line. Told the only person working why I was there, no one was providing services even thought I was asked to see a specific person at a specific time and would like for him to please personally go get her. He comes back a couple minutes later and tells me she's "In a meeting. Just leave my box number, name, and phone number and she said she'd give me a call before the day was over."
I figure less than a 10% chance this happens. Talked to someone else who was told the same thing and has been waiting 10 days for the same phone call.
I don't hear something by Monday, I'll figure out how to open a box elsewhere and how to change my posting address with all the official entities that send mail there.
This is the type of service we get when TRYING TO PAY THEM. No wonder they can't provide parcel service with any competency.
