I worked for the govt for 7 years and during that time I can not think of one single thing they consistently did right. Sure, that was hyperbole, but the point remains. Why would you trust them to tell the truth about any country altering event or phenomenon? They lied about covid and still are. They hide regs and the like in bills all the time, "you like your dr you can keep your dr", "you have to pass it to see whats in it", the current UAP fiasco, the absolutely disparate way trump is treated compared to other politicians, insider trading etc etc etc. The list is literally endless. You might think I sound crazy but if you trust the govt for any serious things, YOURE the crazy one.

Hey Vlad, I certainly don't think they were trying to "overthrow the government" as in a revolution, but they were trying to interfere with the government process of certifying the election. Many of them didn't seem to have a well thought idea of what the heck they were doing…besides venting their anger and frustration that had been stirred up by claims from Trump of a "stolen election". As for the photos, the police in the end did a great job of deescalating the violence and getting people out…which was tactically their best option given the overwhelming numbers the protesters had.
