Maybe we dont have to go through an alternative medicine doctor, but my wife and I want to do the full bloodwork deal.
Any recommendations for doctors? Ideally in the Spring Branch/west side of town areas.

What reason are you wanting to have blood work done? Doctors will order a panel of things to look at to assess your issues that you may or may not be having. I use a doctor that is not in the network per say but she does keep me in great shape as far as weight, thyroid, fatigue, cholesteryl etc. I go twice a year and she has a set of panels that she wants to look.

Just going to get blood work done for the sake of blood work doesn't make sense.

Do a search for functional medicine doctors

Don't know if they take do blood work or not, but here are some functional medicine doctors I fill prescriptions for. They're along 610 loop West

You can effectively order your own bloodwork:
Health Testing Centers

You go and determine what blood tests you want and they commission the test through a doctor on their end. The tests are completed at the same labcorp testing locations that your doctor uses.
  • Standard Health Test (CMP, CBC, Urine Analysis) - $99
  • Comprehensive Health (CMP, CBC, Urine, Cholesterol, Diabetes (HbA1c)) - $169
  • Heart Health (Cholesterol, Inflammation (hs-CRP) - $99

It looks like they have changed the interface a little but I remember going out and being able to cherry pick what blood tests I actually wanted to include.

The also offer promotions on different bloodwork periodically.

The results you get show your results vs. the normal ranges for each test so it's super simple to identify any potential risk.
