I was looking over the election results and the At-Large 2 race seems to be an anomaly. It's lopsided compared to the other races in a variety of ways. It is also interesting that Hellyar out-raised Davis 8-1 and had pretty much all the major non-partisan endorsements and still lost.

Hellyar was endorsed by the Harris County Dems and Davis was endorsed by the Harris County GOP, but the results aren't consistent with the other races where the county parties chimed in - The margin is much larger.

Were there reasons that pushed you one way or the other that were different than the other at-large races? Did that race stand out to you for any particular reason?

FWIW, I didn't have a dog in that hunt, so this is legit curiosity.

You probably wont get a decent selection of responses here beyond if the GOP endorsement.

I didnt follow this race at all but it looks like the combo of having county GOP endorsement and him being a black pastor may have been the 1-2 punch needed to easily win by locking down the right winged voters and getting a decent amount of votes from black voters.

In an election where people can't vote party, GOP endorsement plus black wins.

I voted based on GOP endorsement
