Group of friends in our 30's to 50's thinking about heading to Houston Saturday evening/night for a bachelor party. Would like to hit some bars and eat Saturday evening and then show the groom a good time into the night. Anybody have any suggestions of what areas in Houston would be best for middle aged guys to have a good time? Hotels in that area where we don't have to drive? Can Uber if need. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What about some bars for the late afternoon/evening? Would like an area with numerous bars we could walk between.
Is this the grooms first marriage or third marriage? That should help us ascertain the level of debauchery you're looking for.

Too late, but yall missed a golden opportunity. I am the youngest of my group and it was a perfect setup. Still young enough to go party hard, but old enough to have some money. Everything I and been to before was either thrown together on the cheap, or lame.

Drive the extra hour to Galveston.
Bar hop along the strand, hit up Ocean's or Whispers (if it's still there), brewery and beach during the day.
Being outta season you should have no problem finding a nice beach house for cheap.

Galleria area no question. Hit up the bar at the post oak hotel before treasures. Trust me.
Could hang at rustic during day. Good dinner with many options in area.

Is that still the case? It was getting pretty sketchy around the time of the city crackdowns. I doubt any of the clubs live up to their legendary glory days after the settlements.TarponChaser said:

If you are looking for areas with lots of bars all walkable to each other the three best options are going to be Heights area around 20th and Bevis, Or the Heights area around White Oak and Studewood, or Down town near Main and Congress.

Hell no. There isn't any talent to look at, nor any good bars in Galveston. Unless it's a fishing trip, go into Houston.

Townlake Boardwalk has all you need in one spot. LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch is another great spot. Can always Uber to Mo's Irish Pub or a similar bar if you guys want to kick it up a notch further.

I was a little inspired by the bachelorette party I saw there a while back. To be fair, Ambriza does have solid margs...so I could see a group of young party girls that aren't flush with cash choosing that as their starting location. Still though...it was kind of funny to witness.
