He was one of the early pioneers of rap guys from Houston that had mainstream success and outlived others - he latched on to the right folks and crossed over in his post rap life while others never could shed their original image

Same with Paul wall - have some decent success and they can still do local shows every now and then and they develop clout with non rap folks and live off that

I tried to get ChatGPT to write me a rap about the Astros the other day in the style of Murder by UGK and it wouldn't do it. It complained about vulgar lyrics and updated the prompt to exclude explicit language and it still balked.
