What about The Day the Crayons Quit? The peach crayon was naked in that book since its owner stripped off his wrapper and violated him/her.

Quote:

The cartoon David takes every opportunity to misbehave but is always reminded that his parents love him anyway, according to the book's publisher, Scholastic Inc. At one point in the story, a David jumps out of the tub and and is pictured running off without clothes on.

Drew Daywalt's "The Day the Crayons Quit" was one of 44 books flagged for review in August that was later retained. An illustration depicts a beige crayon that has lost its wrapper, becoming "naked."

Fox, who voted in favor of the book review policy, said it's an example of how implementation has deviated from the policy's intent.

"Nudity was added to the policy, but a book about a crayon with a wrapper is not nudity. That's not what was intended by the policy," she said. "If this continues, we may have to revisit the definitions of the policy."

I agree, this one getting caught up in the mix is a bit silly, but they're making a mountain out of a molehill...especially when you don't hear a peep from the "gay p0rn cartoon books should be allowed in grade school libraries" posse when it comes to their side removing classics like "Huck Finn" and "To Kill a Mockingbird" from these schools.

We don't want to get to that point with the liberal groomers.

I think the fear of conservative board members is really the boogeyman here.

None, but your brethren have done this in various school districts/schools in the country and i don't even want to trend in that direction. And almost always, these same people freak out over a republican governor ordering sexually explicit gay cartoon p0rn books to be removed from public school libraries. These are your people.

My thoughts(which mean nothing):

1. Most people who are against "banned" books don't support "gay porn" books being in the schools.
2. Most people who want books reviewed aren't trying to burn or ban books.
3. People on both sides are being manipulated by others who use conflict to push their own narrative and agendas.
4. Most Americans are reasonable and have pretty much the same political views.
5. At the least, they're all just as lazy as the other about politics and do absolutely nothing to change it.
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

I know people from both slates extremely well. I've know Jaeggi for over 10 years and the one thing she is not is anything close to a liberal. I've had the conversations with her about where our Cy-Fair system was headed and what needed to change long before she thought about running. Kalmbach just wants to be important which is why she's run for multiple different positions in politics and lost every time

Yet the other side wont stfu about her being liberal. Martone is the other one. And it's because people like Lecompte, Ayse, Ray, and kalmbach are clueless about schools so they just play the lib card because they offer nothing but being conservative

That would depend on your definition of tried to remove/ban. Katy ISD 100% had them on the removal list. Same with a Dr Suess book. Once it became news and they looked like a bunch of morons they realized the blanket policy was dumb and changed course.

This is exactly what I'm referring to. These books got caught up in a hastily written and poorly executed policy. The BOT admitted the mistake and amended the policy. But to "low info people" the KISD BOT wanted to remove these books from an elementary library.

It's pretty silly, and I expect this to be corrected. But I would much rather err on this side than on the side of the left, who adamantly insists we include steamy gay sex books, while banning historical classics like Huck Finn and To Kill a Mockingbird.

While you focus your ire on this policy in Cypress, I am assuming you are also against gay p0rn books in schools AND against Huck Finn/to Kill a Mockingbird bans?

The left is simply WAYYY crazier than the right when it comes to this nonsense...this is actually reactionary policy in response to what we are seeing in certain schools and districts across the country...and it's not just limited to urban blue strongholds. You're seeing it in red suburbs.

When the left pushes the pendulum their way to an absurd degree...it awakens those on the right and eventually we may start seeing a hard pendulum swing to the right as corrective or even over-corrective response. It's human nature.

I believe that those in the board that voted against the policy originally also said that they weren't against the policy but they hadn't been given any time to review the policy. Which appears to have been a prudent action to take.

Which lends further credence to the fact nobody was trying to remove those books from the library. It was just a hastily executed and poorly written policy.

But to low info people, KISD reallly wanted those books gone.

I guess there's no blame to be given for writing a poorly written and hasty policy that anyone with a brain could have foreseen would be too broad. They get as much benefit of the doubt as they want. Teachers and school librarians, however, are groomers.

Nice attempt to gaslight tho. However I am going to have to deny your attempt.

The ones who complain about laws saying they can't have gay p0rn books in children's libraries and can't talk to 2nd graders behind their parents back about sexuality and gender are...or at the very least are sympathizers.

A large % of liberals wept and gnashed teeth over Desantis's common sense law in Florida and bought into the "Don't say gay bill" propaganda. All they have done is remove sexually explicit inappropriate content content from school libraries and say that you can't talk to 3rd graders and below about sex/gender behind their parents backs. And even a ton of more rational moderate libs lost their sh** over this.

If you are against removing "Gender Queer" from school libraries, like most modern liberal pagans, you are a groomer sympathizer at the very least. Even if you are ignorant to the fact that this book shows cartoon images of dudes sucking each other's d***s and giving each other handies.

I feel like this is something 97% of society should be able to agree on. It's insane.

Correct. Some of the newer members were given the policy by outside sources and didn't give the KISD lawyer or other members a chance to read it.

Whish was a mistake and terrible governance.

But "low info people" such as some folks in this thread have been gaslighted so hard daddy they think the KISD BOT wanted to remove a naked crayon from a school library shelf.

Ghost of Andrew Eaton

Yep. That's usually because they use the most absurd example of a person on a particular side of an issue as the basis for all people on that side of the issue. I used to love the Libs of TikTok feed but she's just amplifying the fringe people and making them seem like the norm. It was funny at first but now I think it's just being used to manipulate people.

Yeah, but quite a few elected representatives and officials at our highest levels of government align with many of these freaks, promote their exact ideologies etc. The fringe has become mainstream, especially when you see what certain states are trying to push...full term abortions, removing children from custody if their parents won't "affirm their gender". Could go on and on. Oh and tons straight up side with Hamas. This isn't the dem party from the 90's. They have lost their minds.
