ive driven bw8 to 610 down 290 by using every exit and entrance ramp to avoid stopped traffic and intersections.

I have no issue with this, but people need to understand what they're doing and quit being *******s.

For example, the exit/entrance ramp on I-10 west bound, between Yale and shepherd. That entrance ramp sucks and isn't very long to enter from the feeder. People make it even harder by riding the ass of the car in front of them, while doing what you're describing, leaving zero room for anyone to actually get onto 10.

That interchange sucks huge. You have to have Nascar pitting reflexes and talent to get over there, and a bit of luck regarding a-wipes that are not getting off. Look how little distance there is to get to the ramp when you can finally get left. And you have to be doing it at speed because the exiters haven't had a chance to slow down yet.

And on top of all you said, because the exiting traffic has their own lane on the feeder, it's like you have to change two lanes to get on.

I watched a guy merge onto I-10 east at Taylor St and make it all the way across to the I-45 north ramp with 6:30 am traffic. I wasn't even mad, I was impressed.

Eh, I do something similar going home from work by getting on I-10 East between Eldridge and Dairy Ashford and getting over to hit the on ramp for the managed lanes right after DA about 4:15 each day.

Not as bad because it isn't a freeway, but exiting the NB HOV 59 Spur and getting over to Travis exit is a challenge I do every day. The main challenges are (1) those aggressively going fast toward Louisiana exit or beyond because they are pissed and raging having had to wait for the lane cheaters who used the dedicated lanes until the last possible moment, and (2) those who are going 10 mph and clueless about what to do because they had to exit, because (a) no one let them cheat and get back on mainlanes or (b) they were too stupid to see the miles of signs saying that the left 2 lanes are downtown only.

How did he survive?

Side note: From Kingwood to Downtown leave the HOV open for all cars and not just for 2 plus people.
