I've been put in charge of facilitating an off-site "away day" team building for our organization. Looking for a meeting space that we could rent for approximately 50 people. Any ideas other than hotel conference rooms?

Somewhere on the west side between Beltway and 99 would be preferable.

We use the Houstonian a lot, but we're also in the Galleria.

My old company used to do these at hotels and conference centers so they could cater food and bring in bartenders off site. Usually told people up front to Uber or cab there and home and expense it no questions asked.

One time they actually rented out a movie theater. We dreaded it, but somehow they were able to cater and booze it up the same and it was pretty nice. Those that wanted got to stay in the theater to watch whatever popular movie was playing at the time at the end.

Or Powder Keg next door if this event is in October/November and the weather happens to be nice. Typically some tight bodied sand bunnies playing volleyball out there.

Don't think Lawson is there anymore - I'd just call 713.332.1299.

There all good folks - I've done corporate events there before and they've been very helpful.

I don't know - he's not listed on the website. We used to office there and I haven't seen him around for a while. Probably just moved on to other things.

The crew at the Cannon was great to work with, so I wouldn't expect a drop off in service.
