I feel like those with wristbands don't really bring about it

I've got some passes for Thursday night to the Fifth Ward Chamber of Commerce Go Texan tent. I can probably part with four. LMK if interested.

I didn't want to be that guy, but I'm gonna be that guy.

Wife and I already have tickets/wristbands to Dim Cookers for Saturday but we're looking for two more so she can bring two of her girlfriends along.

Does anybody have two tickets/wristbands for sale (reasonable) for Dim Cookers for Saturday night?

can someone explain to me the who wrist band game? Haven't been to the cookoff in over a decade and when we did go we'd only go to the Austin County tent (obviously) since it was who we knew....do people literally pay money just to get inside private tents to eat and drink with strangers?

Not sure how Austin County did it but here people would pay one time fee (wristbands) to get in a tent with 100s of people for all you can drink liquor and beer as well as good BBQ. No different than you and spouse to go to bar or club and dance around to some good music, (but at cookoff) you get unlimited drinks and food.

Also fun to people watch.

I assume most people that attend were given free wristbands through venders. We are going Fri and Sat (free for us) and have different tents to attend. I was looking for two more for two other people we would like to come along.

There are a lot of people that just want to go and don't care what tent it is, because I don't know why you would go to cookoff if you didn't have passes. A lot of tents even advertise for sponsors.

The prices of years ago it wasn't too bad. $75 to eat good BBQ, see live music and drink all you want seems like a better deal than going to a bar. Now wristbands are going for like $150+. Not sure it's worth THAT much, but to some I'm sure it is.

The whole "why would anyone pay to just sit and drink around strangers" is so funny to me. "Why would you pay to go to a bar and drink around strangers, freakin weirdo!".

Don't know how old your son is, but just a reminder the tents are 21 and up.

There are some groups out in the town tonight who look like they either left early or are just priming for the weekend.

Great weather last night. Good crowds but not too crowded. Good bands - food was awesome. Highly recommend going to the BBQ Cook Off! Transportation requires planning.

Where do I buy the stupid carnival tickets "discounted?" Thanks. My daughter just sent me a link, but there's nothing about tickets for the carnies.

Love the singer's comments about "johnny law," while he's completely oblivious to what was happening right in front of the stage.
