Wow. Oliver Anthony. That's mind blowing they got that dude. He had a viral political song and now they think he can play the rodeo stage? I'd be willing to bet my retirement he will put on the worst show the rodeo has ever seen. He's not even entertaining much less talented in terms of musical ability. I'm shocked.
The dude doesn't even have a single album out much less any recognizable hit on any type of radio station. He has a political anthem that caught wind for like two weeks on Instagram.

Probably Roger Creager and Kevin Fowler and a bunch of mid level Texas country guys like usual. Don't know why anyone would leave their tent to go to the cookoff concerts.

Yeah, SA has Houston beat as far as concerts go. But you will get your pickup stolen. Double edged sword if you're going to West Katy.

You really thought they would just throw George or Garth in there on a random night? Come on.
Zach Bryan is playing a big show at NRG this summer, so he wasn't going to come. Same for Chris Stapleton, who was also just here. CoJo is a little surprising, but looking at his tour schedule, he is pretty booked up in March. Colter Wall isn't quite big enough, although having Oliver Anthony those that logic out the window.
Did they blow their load on Jonas Brothers? We were looking through that lineup and aren't sure there are any that we need to see. Brutal.

STILL cant get over the fact they booked Oliver Anthony to play the rodeo stage. It is going to be a disaster beyond repair I am afraid. I love his message, and what he does but my gosh he isn't built to entertain a rodeo crowd in a stadium. Maybe book him at Dosey Doe on a tuesday night and see if he can even sell out that place first.
I have nothing against Oliver Anthony as I think he's a dude that just wants to play his music his way.
When you look at his tour list two things stand out:
1) NRG is by far the largest venue he's played even with anyone else. He's going solo at NRG.
2) Only one show on the current tour is sold out.
I believe he and Jamey Johnson are pretty big buddies. Rodeo should have had them do a show together.

It looks like his tour is starting at NRG. He's playing about 2 weekends a month during his tour.
Buddy of mine played a show with Hank JR last year and said he's still very entertaining. Mentioned the show he was with had some rated R type moments from him. Will be fun to see if he turns it down for the rodeo or NGAF and do his deal
Heard the guy responsible for overseeing the bookings had just retired but still oversaw this round of bookings.
Oliver Anthony on the main stage is bananas. Lol.
