I have heard some good rumors that it will be good. If they follow how theyve been doing it, I would expect an announcement for the 1st one in the next month or so.

Can't wait for someone to ask me for like 10 wristbands per night for cookoff and all the complaining about whoever is in the concert lineup.

Can they make another bbq competition in parallel to the rigged, political, pre-determined-winner bbq contest?

Bring in some TV BBQ judges with no skin in the game and have a secondary list of winners? Wouldn't be too hard.

Anyone looking to join a committee, we have spots on our transportation cook team. Most of the spots are for the overnight shift, so the schedule is tough, but it's also one of the shortest time commitments that are required at 4 shifts, 4-5 hours per shift. Next interviews are on 9/11.

What? You have to interview for the privilege of being a volunteer?

I'll never understand this rodeo stuff.

It's not for everyone. You would really be amazed at how many people want to be on a committee and get all of the benefits, but don't want to work. The volunteers are what makes the rodeo a success and works the way it does.

#1 complaint of working committees was too many work hours. Shocker, people want perks but don't want to earn them.

Yeah, being around kids and in this case driving people around shouldn't be interviewed?

It's also just a practical matter to make sure everyone is compatible with the shift times and duties. Despite how many volunteers there are for HLSR overall, working committees generally work in fairly small teams performing specific functions, and no-shows can screw things up for other volunteers.

Has anybody heard when they're going to start announcing performers? Last year they announced 4-5 before the new year, right?

I saw the list. Very underwhelming. I didn't know half of them. They had way better performers a few years ago and when I was a kid.

We all know Brad Paisley will be playing the last Saturday.

Besides that, I'd say Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton are sure bets. Luke Bryan too.

For newcomers I'm thinking they get Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll. And I'm going to say 50Cent as just a wild guess.

Yeah, but if I remember correctly, last year they announced Cody Jinks, Lauren Daigle, and a couple others before the actual release date. Figured they would probably do the same this year.

I hear Cody will probably take a break from Rodeo Houston this year.

Does that mean fewer repeats? Let's take a break from Brad Paisley on the last Saturday AGAIN.

I agree that I am personally tired of Brad Paisley, especially the last night.

I'm sure that the Rodeo likes that he is a great entertainer (i.e. walks all of the dirt giving fans high-fives and taking selfies). He also appeals to the teenagers up to the 60 yr olds. The Rodeo is always going to sell a lot of seats for the Rodeo Finals, and older Paisley can probably be retained for a smaller fee than the hottest act right now. Just my thoughts.

Can't wait for everyone on here to complain about the performers and wonder why they didn't pick some obscure singer they like that couldn't sell out the Firehouse.
