In katy. Are the prices there worth the effort Vs their normal prices +10%off and free shipping?

I stopped by a couple years ago and don't remember prices really being very low, I think they just have a bunch of stuff that you can't find in normal stores. I don't shop their stuff online so not sure if everything is available online.

I've stopped by twice, once on Black Friday, and I did not find the prices to be much cheaper than anywhere else. Like the other reply stated, they have some things you might not find elsewhere, but I would not go expecting to score huge bargains.

Years ago in another life I replaced a large portion of the pumps they use to pump the 2 part chemical that makes the foam in to the cooler shells.

I went there last weekend. I got this cooler for $70 normal price is $120

It's not as great a store as like the RTIC store - but the prices seem good and I'm happy with the cooler I bought. I like Igloo

All the rotomold are pretty similar performance.

Costco has several at a nice price also

I have a theory about Yeti stuff.

No one buys their own. It's all purchased by sales people or companies and given away. I worked for a big contractor and we gave away Yeti Roadies full of swag at the golf tourney. Everyone got one.

The only Yeti product I have ever purchased is the big cup.

I met a Yeti brand ambassador at my daughter's swim meet. He had yeti chairs, shirts, cups, everything. He gets in for 85% off retail and is supposed to show people how good it is.

I have the same theory. Don't know the number but I have little doubt at least 50% of Yeti purchases are for gifts. Likely much higher.

It's such a great gift because no one with financial sense would spring for it but if given to you you'll sure as hell take it.

Assuming you're just hired help of course.

Same, I have bought tons of yeti/rtic stuff, and have tons of yeti/rtic stuff, but I don't think I have ever bought any of it for me.

We have an entire cabinet overflowing with yeti and similar cups, all with different vendor and customer logos on them.

Igloo does not make a rotomolded cooler anymore

Seems odd to concede that market completely but I guess they have their reasons

Not a cooler snob, I am just familiar with the Igloo facility and their manufacturing processes. Some parts of most hard side coolers are blow molded and some are injection molded. The old Yukon series of coolers was rotomolded. That product line was eventually replaced with the IMX which is injection molded. Injection molding is exponentially faster and more efficient than rotomolding.

They don't do Black Friday there I don't think. They use that store as a clearance center to clear out discontinued or excess product for the most part.

3 times a year now. I think it is March, June and October.

They did a Black Friday way back in the day. I drove out there but never got out of my truck as the line of vehicles was basically backed up to 10. This was 5-10 years ago when there was nothing out there.
