down towards River Oaks Theater. Maybe it was where Perry's is now? I can't remember. But I think it was upstairs.

Sherlocks (Baker St Pub)

Pour one out.

They moved over to the Laff Stop space at some point, maybe 12 years ago, and it was never the same. I just realized the Laff Stop location building has been replaced by a big high rise.

no ****, damn how could I forget it was sherlocks. That's pretty much the only bars my buddy played back in those days. Birraporettis and sherlocks were both addressed 1997 w grey, and the article I found said Birra closed in 2005 after 30 years.

So I guess it must have been downstairs, sherlocks upstairs.

Sherlock's was awesome. The live music was good. Where I was first introduced to Newcastle Brown Ale.

They were called sonic amber, and if I remember we did sound a few times for Adrenaline.

It's pretty amazing, a guy named Nathan Looney was in charge of booking bands back in 01/02, then I worked with him a few times in 09/10 era for my band that played some baker streets, then in Denver I was in a band in 2013/2014 or so. We played the baker st locations up here, and it was same ol' nathan booking still.

Guy had a good run of that job, wonder if he's still at it? It was 'hospitality usa' back then, the name of the company that ran the sherlocks/bakers. I remember he told me the willowbrook baker st did something like $250k of alcohol sales a month, back in 2009 ish. 1,000+ drinks a day, every day.

Many an Aggie Happy Hour at Sherlock's. It was the passing of an era when nightlife shifted to Midtown & Washington.

I've met Nathan a couple times through mutual friends in the bar industry. IIRC, he's a DJ at LiL Woodrow's on Shepherd now. Don't know if he does band promotions though

XIT, Birraporettis, Sherlocks and Marfreless. Good times and gas savings.

Laff Stop was such a great room… favorite show I saw there was Brian Regan headlining with some guy opening for him none of us had ever heard of, Mitch Hedberg.

It was upstairs over Birra Pirettis. Downstairs when it moved across the street

I saw mitch there too, although he was headlining. He asked the audience for Xanax. So sad.
