I'm conditioned not to speed at that location. I actually set my cruise control at 35.

Lol exactly. There is a large overlap between the "how about just never speed", "umm, you know that's not a kolache right?", and "the roads belong to bikes just as much as cars" crowds.

Here's a crazy thought, how bout they enforce traffic around the city instead of stockpiling traffic cops in the same division where they routinely sit on the same traps for the primary purpose of racking up easy overtime, for DECADES even though the city and traffic patterns have changed? How bout that, smart guy?

People in my neighborhood, for instance, would like - and have requested - more speed enforcement to cut down on people blasting through our hood on the way to the hood and causing frequent accidents. But it's a lot easier to sit on a few target spots handing out tickets to people who don't ride their brakes hard enough coming down bridges that are conveniently close to Central division. A few blocks of N Shepherd and TC Jester have got to be the safest blocks in the city, considering how HPD enforces them.

They were running on shep/Durham South bound coming off the bridge past Kroger yesterday.

they need to set something up at Shepherd & Pinemont and Shepherd & Tidwell

but that might be too dangerous for HPD

Even crazier thought, use law enforcement resources where it actually matters…. But I guess that doesn't generate as much revenue, just makes it safer…

Because traffic enforcement pays better there than Wayside, Telephone Rd. or MLK.

I'd rather them there then sitting on 10. The people flying down that bridge and through a neighborhood at 50+ are for more dangerous than someone doing 75 in 10. I do my hill running workouts on that bridge. Crazy how fast some people go.

You'll speed up going downhill.

Matt Davis got me before, same one that got caught in the OT scam.

HPD stopped being a police force a long time ago. They don't really police anything. If you need a cop the only way is to call the Constables office.

Private security for your hood is the only option.

Being conditioned is not a good look and you're smarter than this.

I figured you did….just annoying at coasting from 35 at the top can get you ticket for 43 in a 35.

I have adaptive cruise control that brakes to maintain the set speed.

This has been going on for more than a decade in that exact spot.

They sit at the bottom of the overpass and pop people all day for 4-5 miles over as they are coasting down the backside of the overpass. The only way to not speed there is to ride the brakes going down the overpass.

They ain't even in their patrol car either. They got one guy standing in the road and one guy with the radar gun flagging people to pull over. They got 2-3 cars stopped at a time.

Its like fishing at in a wading pool at the county fair.

Well, good to see that the crime wave in Houston is over so they now have free time for speed traps
