No. The apartments are directly across the street from the school. All entrances and exits to the anpartments are swarming with kids walking and riding bikes to school between 7:25 and 8:00 each morning.

Yep, as other have said, thank God this didn't happen at that time. Place is swarming on some days before and after school.

What I hope doesn't happen is for neighborhood people to react as if this is the new norm and change their habits in any way. It is always refreshing driving or biking through that neighborhood and seeing how many kids still ride bikes and play outside together. You don't see that in a lot of neighborhoods. Reminds me of growing up directly "across the tracks" from there.

I just know that modern moms have a tendency to overreact when scary isolated events happen. There will be a school shooting in a diff state and then you'll see tons of em give a "omg I can't even feel safe dropping my kid off at school anymore, something has to be done!" response.

I am just hoping the moms in that neighborhood don't overreact. I love that neighborhood.

I know this neighborhood probably better than 95% of the Patagonia vest and On Cloud shoe wearing transplants currently living in it (not a knock on those brands…I own a significant interest in both). I was just hoping the helicopter moms in the area don't overreact to this type of isolated incident. Modern moms have a tendency to to that nowadays. It's an awesome neighborhood and very nostalgic for me. Kids always out and about and posting up selling candy etc. I would hate for that to ever change.

The fact no one is in custody is baffling. Can't be that complicated. My suspicion is they have the target but are still gathering evidence to make it a slam dunk case but who knows.
