Can't tell if I'm more shocked that Houston Press is still in business or that someone actually reads it?
I think I wound up there through a Houston foodies Facebook page.
Sounds like they're going super small foot print, back to basics. I like the recommendation from the author that they drop the JCI Grill concept. It is terrible.

tired of pretending that JCI and Becks Prime are good places to eat
AST time I went was after the redesigned everything and it cost me 20 bucks for a f-in wiener in a bun and chili. That was it for me.
I don't know why they can't just make a *********hot dog and charge a hot dog price for it. This used to be my place to go.

1. Drop the JCI Grill concept and go to serving basic hotdogs styles.
2. Improve quality control and service. Last few times I went a few years ago, they were serving old, green looking hotdog Frank's.

Best thing about JCI is/was the chili, but last time I had it at the Westheimer location it was noticeably different.
