No, you just have more visibility to it now. I worked food service when I was in college (before the days of smart phones) and there was no shortage of *******s to deal with on a daily basis.Ciboag96 said:Ryan the Temp said:I very strongly resisted the urge, unlike last week when some Karen was ripping into a line cook's ass about how she was paying 75 cents for mushrooms on her omelette and he had not given her a satisfactory number of mushrooms. I don't know if people are getting worse or if I'm just noticing these things more.
When the entire Modernity Machine is raising people with the promise that only feelings are truth, this is what you get.
It gets worse. Happy to help.

I think it is a community problem that is exacerbated in urban/suburban environments. People are out their getting theirs and taking as much as they can instead of trying to work together to create more for everyone.Hammerly High Dive Crips said:Ryan the Temp said:I very strongly resisted the urge, unlike last week when some Karen was ripping into a line cook's ass about how she was paying 75 cents for mushrooms on her omelette and he had not given her a satisfactory number of mushrooms. I think it's a real phenomenon. The pandemic really did a number on a lot of people. They seem permanently broken.

I totally agree with you...I just have personally noticed more psychos coming out of the wood work since the Covid sh**. Probably affected the type of person mentioned in Ryan's post above the most....I'd bet dollars to donuts that she is white, 45-50+, single and lonely, and that she would score worse on a psych eval now than she would have in February or 2020. I could be wrongSea Speed said:Hammerly High Dive Crips said:Ryan the Temp said:I very strongly resisted the urge, unlike last week when some Karen was ripping into a line cook's ass about how she was paying 75 cents for mushrooms on her omelette and he had not given her a satisfactory number of mushrooms. Throw in a dash of self centeredness and selfishness and a whole lot of narcissism due to social media age mix it with an everybody wins culture and finally top it off with a bit of victimhood and entitlement, and you're seeing what leads to people acting this way. I dont reckon its going to get any better until people are started to be told no and given the proverbial smack on the nose with a newspaper like a bad dog. If there is no behavior correction, people will continue this bs and it will only get worse.
