This thread reminds me, I saw one of the local news stations, 13 I think, refer to "Asia town." Is that the new preferred nomenclature for Chinatown?

The best restaurant there isn't Chinese so makes sense! If you haven't tried Phat Eatery, which is Malaysian, get out there ASAP. Also Thaicoon is really good as well.
What should we call an area that is and always been a mix of restaurants, stores, etc with stuff form various different Asian countries?Harry Lime said:

Also G&F is the only place I know to get authentic Soup Dumplings that are flown in.Ferris Wheel Allstar said:Ginger & Fork & Mala would be my two picks.Lola68 said:
Any suggestions as to best Chinese food in H-town? Mein? Ginger and Fork? Mala? I appreciate your help.
G&F had to get a computer system to translate englise to the Cantonese/Mandarin characters bc their cooks are from China
Me too. Great Vietnamese out there too with Paris, Saigon Pagolac, Alpha Bakery, Sing Sing, Don. Miyagi for Sushi. Not far from Ghandi district for good Indian or Pakistani (London Sizz, Himalaya). Good Persian at Bijan and Kasra. El Aseel for Palestinian Chicken. Westchase area was an international eating paradise.htxag09 said:
This thread makes me miss working in westchase. Golden dumpling, mein, oceans palace, fu fu, ishin udon, mala were all regular lunch spots.
You got that right.......................anyway.aTm_bomb said:Harry Lime said:Is this a John & Lance reference?jja79 said:

I should have quoted "authentic" as it was more joking on how it is phrased at G&F. They fly them in from NY and according to the G&F owner only NY and LA and now Vegas are the only places in US that make authentic ones.aTm_bomb said:
Flown in? Like Main lobster or Italian marble?
Is it only authentic if the nimble fingers of Chinese nationals are used?
Wanna Bao in Midtown and One Dragon in Chinatown (related owners if I recall) are solid xiao long bao locations. Pretty sure they are authentic.

My only problem was that the Viet-Cajun crawfish joints didn't open until like 4.

Went to Phat Eatery yesterday. Awesome. If you're hungry and adventurous, do the Feed Me $48 6 course option where they choose what to bring out.AgCPA95 said:AndesAg92 said:Harry Lime said:
