Thinking of moving there from seabrook. Any horror stories?

From someone who lives in the vicinity, I have heard a lot of issues over the years about there. I would look at 500 Crawford, 1414 Texas or Catlyst. If you do go to 500 Crawford, let me know and I will split the referral with you

Does "they gonna get torn down" and "the highway will be under construction for years" count as a horror story?

How many Priuses (Prii?) will meet their maker in that underground flood basin? You can probably hear the screams from the nearby apartments. I also spy a nice green area for relocation of the homeless encampment.

So, they're going to run the highways that currently flood under the streets that currently flood?

RE: Lofts at The Ballpark, seriously, you'll need to be ready to move back out as soon as they get the go ahead on the freeway project.

The State of Texas / TXDOT already owns/bought them. I'm a little surprised its possible to still lease, but I guess they're still running the apartments until they get the go ahead. Two of the buildings arent in the highway right of way, but I imagine since they already own the whole thing, they will use the rest of the land as a construction staging ground.

Luckys was the only draw in that area now its dead. Don t do it.

I also wouldn't necessarily trust any lack of horror stories from back in the day since your landlord if you move there is going to ultimately be the government and not an apartment project that cares about its future as a going concern.

OP, are you thinking of commuting to Seabrook? Job and housing change or just job change?

That would be rough.

No I'm commuting from seabrook as it is. This would be slightly closer to work, probably by 10 mins if I had to guess. Rent is comparable to where I live now, but these are actually much nicer than the sheet hole that is Pirate's Landing.

Thanks yall, this is helpful. We're hoping to buy soon, hopefully in a year or so, so the inevitable destruction may not be much of an issue.

I love this part of town, but I think there are probably better options. I think we had a mutual friend who lived in them before he moved to georgia.

There are so many bars that are better than Lucky's over there now.. and further into Eado.

Not sure which building it is exactly, but if I lived in one that has windows about 5 feet from the freeways, I think my wife and I would become voyeurs. Wonder how many wrecks we would cause.

Just saw that Greystar has this property, I have dealt with them on 2 properties and cant stand them.

That's reminiscent of the Big Dig in Boston....it's nice now, but only f-cked up downtown Boston totally for 15 years.

From white trash to homeless trash. Not exactly a Jefferson's rags to riches story.

I understand the flexibility of an apartment rental but the crime in the garages might make you rethink this. There are tons of houses in EaDo, you may find some better/safer rental options that route.

I'm not kinkshaming, but I believe you would like to be the exhibitionists. Voyeurs would be the drivers on the road trying to watch you and the missus bump the uglies. If you two were voyeurs in the apartment, you'd be trying to find drivers who were mid-road shenanigans. I'm not sure how common that is on that stretch of road.

Out of curiosity, how much does one need to make to afford a 1 bedroom here? Looks like the prices are roughly $2,500 month excluding bills?

What are all the good bars in Eado now? All I'm familiar with are Truckyard and Pitch 25

We pay $1800 for a 2/2 in seabrook, but it's waterfront.

A good friend lived there 10-12 years ago when Lucky's was the only thing nearby and we spent a good amount of time there. Now there is much more to do (but not Lucky's) and you can even binger fang someone on the TruckYard ferris wheel.


My car got towed out of the garage when I parked there once for 3 minutes just to run in and drop something off.

It's not just that area either. I hear stories all the time of cars getting broken into or wheels taken from friends in apartments with garages. Don't let some gate or a "security guard" who is on their phone looking at tiktoks provide you some false sense of security. Rent a house in EaDo and get a private garage access.
