Why do you want a mediocre lager from SE Asia that likely sat in a 100F shipping container for months before it got here? They taste great while hanging out watching boats pass on the Mekong but drinking them in Houston won't bring back the magic.
You aren't wrong. When I lived in SE Asia, I drank all the local beers because they were cold and cost a quarter. A 6-pack of them here is like $10. Totally not worth it.
