Whats up with the Parker McCollum hate? Dude puts out good music.

Y'all don't like that he wears? There's a whole demographic of small town kids who wear jeans and white Ts and ball caps. From my buddy who lived in Beaumont and volunteered a lot, this was the look of every teenage boy who walked into the crisis pregnancy center after they had decided to keep the baby and maybe buy a ring.

For the record I don't hate Parker McCollum but I know his look is an easy mark for some. I like the songs I've heard from him. He's got a great voice and good sound.

If I have one complaint is all of his songs sound really similar. I don't listen to him a ton but when I hear three of his songs in a row they really sound the same.

If he drank a bottle of Jack Daniels and smoked 3 packs of cigs a day for six months I think he'd really do himself some good to get a little "wear" on his sound.

Ducks - you mind saying what you paid? I'm curious as we did Row 2 for Tyler Childers and it was AWESOME.

I was wondering if they're doing $1,000+ for TT as we paid $450.

I know some will gripe but I think it's cool what they do for Rows 2-4 where you pay a premium but they can't be transferred. Keep that money in the hands of the venue and not the re-salers.

I definitely like him. He even made Yellowstone which is a pretty high bar in my book. Parker could use a little bit of that gravel voice in my book.

He's doing just fine though.

I'm not the biggest fan of Parker, but I wouldn't say he's Nashville bro country. And I'm a red dirt/traditional country diehard. He's a fantastic songwriter even if I'm not a fan of his style.

For those more knowledgeable about white oak tocket prices and current country acts, would you expect those colter wall secondary ticket prices to go up or down? Looks like some are available for around $150 a piece.

If Parker McCollum is being booked, what about Koe Wetzel? They toured together for a while and seem pretty close in popularity. Koe freakin rocks. I haven't ever seen him, so he might dress up like Parker, but whatever. I didn't like him at all at first, but his stuff has grown on me. I like the southern rock stuff and Koe is bringing it.

Turn off the ipod or pandora and turn on 100.3-3, or something similar and they play these guys all the time. Ask alexa to 'play Texas Country' or 'Red Dirt Radio'. The talent pool is not very deep, but there is some good stuff that comes out. Or, just keep it on 92.9-2 and listen to Pat Green every third song.

I just put pandora on Whiskey Myer's or TT and you'll hear a bunch of the people we've mentioned.

This guy is pretty cool. Very unique voice. Going to see him at Mucky Duck next month.

I remember tuning into KIKK last time I was in town and being underwhelmed by what I was hearing. Everything that was coming on seemed a lot closer to nashville than to REK, JJW, Cory Morrow, Gary P, Todd Snider, Ryan Bingham etc.

On a side note I miss KIKK from the late 90s early 00s. Still listen to the one Texas station that you can pick up in College Station when I'm driving out 290.

ETA: I see I can stream it. I'll give it a try here at work. Good sign that Cross was on as soon as I opened it up.

Anyone ever listen to William Eliot Whitmore? I was really in to his stuff several years ago but kind of stopped following him so I need to check out his newer stuff. I would think yall would really like his voice after seeing some of the other stuff posted. Not all his stuff is this depressing, although a fair bit it.
