About 10 years ago there was a cash only place a block from I-69 (59) inner loop that was about $50 less than the nearest quote, but I can't locate it.
Suggestions?

I did A+ Auto Glass Windshield Repair Replacement on Shepherd about six months ago for an Escalade. Beat all the other quotes by a couple hundred.

Pretty certain Affordable Auto Glass on Hillcroft/59 was recommended to me on here and perhaps what you're thinking of. They were definitely cheaper and the work was good.

I haven't used them yet, but my regular service station guy recommended them, and it looks like they're substantially cheaper than anywhere else I shopped. They also said you can drop by w/ no appointment. I need to get over there this week.

Check out windshield hub on line. Very cheap, but great service done by local contracted companies. I have used them for F150 and my Jeep. Came to my office on time and was done quickly

Safelite works with insurance or AAA and will get it done.

Yum! Gimme a recommendation. I know I'm due for a broken windshield soon

They're also like 2 or 3 times the price of anything else mentioned here.

Had a good experience with them as well

Follow up: I went with Affordable Auto Glass on Hillcroft/59.

They were substantially cheaper than anywhere else I checked (and relatively convenient location for me).

Also super fast. Got the text about 2 hours after dropping off that it was ready. Think it was 10 dollars less than what they quoted me by email. It's no frills and no discussion, but cheap and fast.

I'll let yall know if it falls out or anything.

Cool driving with an uncracked windshield again; didn't realize how much that altered my vision/focus. The drive home was like watching the street on widescreen.

What are the costs here on these places. Is there some reason nobody is saying how much they spent?

I have been meaning to have mine replaced/ 2012 mustang convertible. I know USAA has a windshield replacement program, but is there anyway I should not go through them? I am pretty sure they use Safelite

Paid 325 for a 2017 F250 windshield and put my brow tint back on for me. Nothing to hide on price. They beat everyone.

doesn't help you right now, but look at adding glass coverage to your auto policy. Most auto carriers work with safelite and it's super easy to file a claim through them.

The cost depends on your vehicle. For my full sized truck, Affordable was $160 all in.

Safelight quote was over $400. Someone else quoted me about $250, which is closer to what I paid the dealership to replace like 10 years ago.

If you are responding to me, I have glass coverage with usaa. I will just go with their overpriced vendors.

I did the same. Cheap is not what I want for structural components of my vehicle. I just used a local shop that came highly recommended that could get and install OEM Ford SoundScreen Carlite glass. I think the final bill was $575 but insurance reimbursed. I used safe lite glass once 15 years ago and I'll never make that mistake again.

Don't bother with A+, they flat ghosted me after failing to show up for their appointment to replace my windshield. Tried office numbers, cell numbers, etc. - zero answer at all from them.

Ended up with American Glass Services, they were cheaper by about $40, showed up early and were done inside of 45 minutes.

I was all in, with a $20 tip, at $335 for a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500, no sensors or anything on the windshield other than rear view mirror and inspection sticker.
