Walked by Down The Street this afternoon and it looked completely full. Kept walking.

Went to Original Ninfa's last night. %A0Reduced number of tables but all were occupied. %A0Margaritas and food was good. %A0Glad to get out

Tia Maria's yesterday. Had sheet load of chips with queso. Chile relleno. And a jalapeno popper. Was good.

Went to Dolce Vita yesterday. First dine-in experience since early March. Was nice not having to grab and go, but it was still pretty weird, not gonna lie.

Said they are done "indefinitely". Said too expensive to source the product they require, debt, etc. Consolidated all 4 into 1 (Bellaire) and used 10 employees out of 115. Can't do it any more. I'm guessing the Heights and Bellaire rents are pretty high.

Prominent Houston restaurant group shutters 5 locations

We're definitely moving past small operations with "pre existing conditions."

I'm completely speculating here, but I can see those being their bottom net-profit locations. Those ITL ones have to either have crazy high rent or if Pappas owns the land then they have a chance to cash out and make money off the real estate rather than fight the battle to run a restaurant that may never see the same level of foot traffic ever again. The value of the Yia Yia Mary's spot alone has to be crazy high. I havent worked in Greenspoint in almost 6 years, but that was the only traffic for that north 45 spot. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.
