I have been pumping gas and gone inside for a "quick" (by Bucee's standards) purchase and come out and the gas nozzle has been taken out and put back in the pump and my gas cap put back on.

I think they're even onto this scheme.

All you need to do is write down your license plate number and give it to a cashier inside. Never had an issue

Reached out to some contacts in the security sector on this. One other possibility is that someone notices a car in the same spot for a long time that has not moved and makes a mental note to look again later. Pretty fascinating industry.
