I've heard MOD is good but that was from my wife so I'm suspect

I think the one real take away from this thread is that Houston isn't a pizza town.

It's the Antonio's of downtown Houston and it is wonderfulballchain said:This.Bigballin said:
Franks at 2:00am
Slices of pure heaven when fresh out of the oven at 2:00 am. Not so much once it cools down, but the grease-dripping simplicity makes it awesome when it's hot. No frills. No BS fancy toppings, just a damn good slice after a bender.

The only real answer is Tony's over off Jones road and 290

The only Brother's I've been to is the Hwy 6 location and I thought it was awful. Pizzeria Solario on Wesleyan is my favorite. Two Guys Pizza on Holcombe is close to my office and it looks like a place worth trying. Pizaro's is another that I'm interested in trying.

Also, I live right by Pizaro's and have never gone. I see they have Detroit style like Via 313 in Austin. Any reviews?

Been to Star and wasn't impressed. Crust in the Heights is excellent

Pretty hard to beat Costco's. Not the frozen one (although I've never had it). Talking about the one from their hot food counter.
Better than any listed in this thread so far.
Unfortunately, I'm with you here. I've tried so hard to like Star. Have probably been 10 or more times, but have never thought it was among the best in town. But I did not know it in the early days (early 90s i believe is when it opened??!!)Finn Maccumhail said:
I don't know about some of the other places but I've never not had a great pizza from Star.
Brothers is good when I've had it. Don't think I've had Fuzzy's or Pinks. For a chain Russo's NY Pizzeria is pretty dang good.
On the Upper East Side Italiano's is very good.
