Tell your kids that throwing pieces of bread to the seagulls on the ferry is pretty cool. Also tell them washing seagull poop out of their hair....not fun.

My son did this on the 61st street pier, and dad got to untangle seagulls from his fishing line.

I had some pretty good breakfast tacos at Bronco Burritos the last time I was in Galveston.

And if you stop at Leon's in Galveston, get some tamales at Star Bakery next door

ETA: There's a Tx Pit Stop on the Seawall run by the same people. I believe it's his daughter and son

There is no decent BBQ in Galveston. The fatty brisket from Kat's BBQ in Santa Fe is the only good thing this side of Pearland.

agreed. You have to drive to the fricken mainland all the way to Webster to get good 'cue at Pappa's BBQ.

Grand Prize BBQ in Texas City isn't too bad, Dickinson BBQ is pretty solid (or was before Harvey) and Red River in Webster is rumored to be pretty good.
