Yes. We have one piece - a sleeper sofa. Never. Again.

I wouldn't buy anything Ashley that will actually bear weight. End tables, etc... would be fine. It is not high quality stuff, but serviceable. Though that seems kind of obvious by the price.

It's not Ethan Allen quality, but it's not bad either. Most of the furniture in my house has ended up being Ashley and it's held up very well over the years. I wouldn't have a problem buying it again.

We have a few pieces from them, and they are decent enough pieces, but have had problems with them every time....

Quality Control - we bought an ottoman from them and it took us 8 attempts to find one that was acceptable

Poor customer service - maybe not poor customer service, because I understand from the wife that the salesman was quite friendly and helpful, but the doofus keyed in the wrong item number and we went from having the furniture delivered in a week to a backorder situation.

Have leather sectional couches from them with zero issues.

I guess I'm the exception then. Our bed we purchased a few years ago is great and the customer service was great too. Would have no issue buying from them again. this is the store n Pearland near the Academy fwiw.

Don't buy from an actually Ashley store, buy from any other furniture store that sells it and you'll save a good chunk of money. You can find other retailers straight off the Ashley website.

Bought a sectional that they had listed for $2300, went on sale the next week for $1700 and the Ashley Homestore wouldn't budge off that number. Walked into another furniture store that sold Ashley and bought it for $1250.

There's also an Ashley furniture outlet tore at I45 and Tidwell or Crosstimbers (I'm not sure which one)

Will never purchase from Ashley again. 5 years ago we bought a large sectional. Loved it, was so comfortable. looked good and it was made out of "durablend". The outer layer has been peeling off for about 2 years now and it looks horrible. there are flakes of this stuff all over the house now. It sticks to clothes, etc.

We called customer service and they were close to working out a deal of giving us store credit but then balked when we couldn't produce a photo of the bar code on the bottom of one of the two pieces of the sectional. We provided the barcode for the other piece. Seriously? You can't buy the pieces separately! After googling, we found tons of people with the same exact issue.

Went back to the store and told them what happened, they pointed to the floor model and said that floor model has been sitting there 6 years and not one issue! : - /

Here is a lovely pic of one piece of the sectional, it used to be dark brown.

Pretty sure all immigration leather couches eventually do that. Mine from Sam's did. The guy at Ashley told me if you regularly wipe it down it shouldn't. Apparently body oil makes it dry out.

Wow, I'd be pissed too if my sofa did that. I currently have a microfiber type material, so kind of feel your pain. It's the worst thing I've ever owned. Never again.

After looking at their sugar land location, I'll pass. There were a few decent pieces, but the salesman ruined everything for me. I understand commission is important, but that fact didn't need to be mentioned to me several times. Guess I'll give star and gallery a shot this weekend. The best sofa I've ever owned was from gallery.

A four piece "leather" furniture set from gallery furniture did the same. I'm done with them.

It's not about the furniture store but rather the material. Anything that is bonded leather, which is basically a thin melted layer of leather glued on top of mesh fabric, will crack and crumble after less than 5 years.

This.

My sofa and love seat are leather. Bought them about 10 years ago, aside from normal wear on the seat cusions (dogs), absolutely no issues. The leather is good leather amd has held up well with only sporadic cleaning and care by me.

We bought a dining room table and chair set from them. I don't really care for the chairs (just not as solid as they should be in my opinion), but the table is pretty solid and does well the e or r times a year we actually use it to eat off of.

That would have been good to know before buying it. I know better now that just because they call it leather that it doesn't mean they see selling something worth a ****.

Lik others have said if you are going to use it allot then get something else. If it's just going to sit in the corner then it's fine

Have never found anything at Gallery we liked. Our couch and chairs are from Ethan Allen and have held-up well.

Yeah, I think it's total BS that bonded leather can be marketed as leather as many countries disallow that. I learned the hard way as well and it was an expensive mistake.

If you hate Ashley salesman, you should despise Gallery IMO. Gallery is high pressure sales and just pisses me off to no end. I won't ever step foot in there again because I just want to shop. Most places I can walk in, tell the salesman to give me their card and I'll wave them over if I have any questions. They'll hover around, but they won't bug me, but not at Gallery. Gallery is bugging me every time I even slow down to look at a piece, trying to sell me the whole room even if I just want a chair. Star isn't too bad about it, but they are awfully proud of their stuff for not being anything too great. I don't mind paying appropriately for quality, but a lot of stuff just isn't quality anymore.

Seriously, go check out a lot of the independent furniture stores, they aren't as fancy, but they have the same stuff for the most part and you can get a better deal on it.

My wife just orders online from one kings lane and other stores. They ship to you and she's never had a problem shipping something back.

Cant speak for couches, but the Amish make damn nice tables, chairs, and entertainment cabinets. They are not much more expensive than the Gallery Furniture "hardwood" and are badass quality.

Ashley - never. Don't do it.

I've gotten really nice top grain at Exclusive. Got $8200 sectional and addn'l sofa for $4700 cash, tax and 5 year warranty included...so cash talked big time there. Customer service was blah (delivered a month later, but did a minor repair immediately). Gallery couldn't touch that price.

Don't do leather if you can't afford top grain.

Don't go to Ashley Furniture. The salesman I dealt with was a jerk.

Get Flex Steel furniture instead. It's made it last unlike the cheap crap Ashley pushes. I got a couch at Furniture Traditions in Humble. Pretty good place and nice people.
