apparently it has slowed down some and the Houston rain may come later Tuesday and into Wednesday. It's still all over the place on how much rain to expect.

I don't buy all the hype, but I still think its inconsiderate that the other parties (one local and one coming in from SA) don't take into account the guy driving through 50mph winds/driving along the coast road. As far as getting the hotel room, I might have to settle for that.

All this talk about weather models and no rule #1.

Looking at the models on weather.com give me hope that this is going to be wet but not epic floods. As someone who was hit by the Memorial Day Floods, I really want to believe that.

I wonder if some folks get the saturation aspect.

Water in the street doesn't equal flooding. I've seen no reports of flooding and doubt you saw any in person.

It rains in bands. The location the storm males landfall dictates the location of said bands and therefore the amount of rain is directly related to the location of landfall.

I'm definitely focused on the flooding. That said, a far west landfall should be better than a nearer west landfall.
