I live in Ella Lee Forest, and our open ditches drain to a culvert that drains to White Oak Bayou. If that sucker gets too high and equalizes, our ditches will have nowhere to drain but up into the homes. Luckily im on the high western part of the neighborhood, but still.

Have Astros tickets tonight...last sporting event I went to was the Western Conference Finals game on Memorial Day...we got out of Toyota but the drive home was quite scary.

I've got tickets to the game tonight as well. It doesn't look like the problems will happen until early tomorrow (if at all). I hope.

The heavy rain isn't going to be west of us. High winds will be to the west but the heaviest rain is most likely going to hit Houston.

My office sent out an email early this morning that all employees with a laptop are to take their computers home tonight and expect an email updating us tomorrow morning. I assume that way if they feel they need to close the office employees should still be able to work from home. We didn't close for the flooding a few weeks ago. During that, they just sent an email saying offices were still open, but use best judgement on whether or not you should come in. To me, that was a statement that you need to be here, and are expected to work.

One problem for me, I can never use the weather excuse to not make it to work. I live across the street and only have to walk across an intersection to get here.

That may happen, but that's not what the models show right now. Houston will get hit, and maybe hard, but everything I'm seeing shows the heaviest rain to the west of town.

The ladies here at work are currently talking about how they plan to mitigate flooding in their homes. One plans to stay home and start ripping carpet up so that when it floods it won't get the carpet wet. She also went and bought a small pump to put by the door that will pump water out away from the house.

I'm definitely not worried about high winds, or even rain to an extent, I was more hoping to get an idea of how likely the I-10 at Gessner feeder road, frostwood area around Memorial City are, to flood at moderate to heavy rainfall.
