As a Coles resident myself, I agree,most of the crime is very typical of most other neighborhoods in the area, I feel no less safe now, than when I moved in.
There were car break ins and burglaries in the neighborhood I grew up in, you just never heard of them unless it was through friends.
Now days with the internet, as soon as you roll through a stop sign or forget to signal, someone is on our subdivision yahoo page, whining about it. So, point being, that we hear about WAY more stuff than we ever used to, and it gives the effect of things "getting worse".
Not trying to make light of this particular situation, as it's very saddening, but I would be shocked if this was just a break in, there is way more to this.
