Any recommendations on Toyota dealers in town? Looking at getting a new Tacoma soon and want to know where to go and who to avoid. We live close to Mike Calvert and Sterling McCall.

I believe the general consensus on this board is Star Toyota on 45 towards League City.

I used them in '06 and was very happy.

Have always heard good things about Star as well. My cousin only buys Toyota and has purchased 6-7 cars/trucks from them over last 20 yrs.

Go to auto board and ask aggiepaintrain for his contact at Atkinson in bcs. He gives you an amazing price.

I've also heard great things about Star.

I've owned two Toyotas. Had all my service done at Sterling McCall. Fantastic service department there.

Have not bought from Joe Myers. I have dealt with their service department. If you deal with them, make sure you are explict about everything, get everything in writing, and save every scrap of paper. I did and it saved me about $1,000. They are easier to deal with if it looks like they would lose a lawsuit. If you go in with the expectation of being cheated, then it won't be a surprise when it happens.

I've got a good contact at Ft Bend Toyota and another at Gulf Coast in Angleton.

My first 4Runner was from Gullo in Conroe. Really liked those guys, I knew junior Gullo's kids and mainly went because I liked the family and they seemed really fair across the board. My 2nd 4Runner I left Houston for it, as DFW gave me a much better deal at the exact one I wanted, otherwise I would have gone Gullo again. Star seemed nice, but wouldn't budge off the MSRP for the 4Runner I wanted for some strange reason, so I went up North. But have had friends have good experiences at Star. I have had a bad service experience at Mike Calvert, which is unfortunate because it's the closest to ITL, but won't go there for anything now.

Star all the way. Have bought about 8 cars from them for and with various family members. When I go to buy my next Tacoma, it will be from them. I would not buy from sterling McCall again, and I had a BAD experience trying to buy from don McGill in Katy. So bad that I left and bought the same vehicle from star two days later. Hope the salesman and his manager got fired for that one. They were both jackasses.

Go to Fred Haas Toyota world, ask for Steve Soodi, he has sold me all my cars for almost 2k below invoice... Reference the property tax guy when u go... He's a jewel of a person to deal with..

Bought a highlander from Don McGill last month only b/c the price was right (I guess that's all that matters). The car and price sold itself, not the people.

I got a phone call from their sales dept last week asking if "I was still interested in buying a highlander".

Things like that really grind my gears.
