Glad Clanton is off the show with Lance, can't stand his constant pessimism, just awful. I think Matt and Lance will be great together once they get their chemistry together.

Cannot stand listening to Lopez and Wright. Both are horrible.

I don't mind Wright/Lopez, but the unending Texans talk from the hosts, coupled with the seemingly unending Texans shows is beyond tiresome. College football is not discussed much on the radio in Houston anyway, but on 610 it doesn't exist.

its a Monday after the Texans just won the division and are set to host a play off game this Saturday. You really didtn't expect them to talk about anything else today did you?

Houston is a Pro Football town, like it or not. College football has never gotten much play here from the radio guys.

Matt Thomas is my favorite Houston sports radio personality by far. Lance and him should do well but like others have said it will take some time. 790 morning was show was the best with Lance and Adam but its probably going to be light years ahead of the other morning shows now with Lance and Matt.

Yes! I can finally listen to Lance again now that Adam is off of that show! Can not stand that dude.

I get the subject of the show, what I am talking about is the Texans Radio shows. Today, in addition to the regular shows/hosts discussing the Texans, the team has dedicated radio shows for the following times:

So that's 5 1/2 hours today, followed by 4 hours tomorrow, then 2 hours each on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by 4 hours on Fridays all dedicated exclusively to the Texans, none of which includes the actual pre-game, game or post-game (something like 9 hours). This is above and beyond the rest of the time when they are the only subject discussed. That's what gets tedious.

Yeah well when the Astros were making an improbable playoff run (and the first since their 2005 WS appearance) all they could talk about was how bad the Texans looked after getting blown out by Miami.

Every show, all day was about the hapless Texans while this town's MLB team was in the playoffs.

It's inexcusable.

Hell even during the off-season they have hours of Texans shows on talking about the same effing thing over and over.

Preseason Texans games drew more viewers than Astros playoff run did.

I work with people that say they hate sports but they watch the Texans because that is bigger than sports.

Lets see how long it takes for Lance and Matt to get it going. IMO it will be the same as when Lance was with Palillo. They are both great but for some reason it does not work our very well.
Good thing is we get an extra hour of Palillo.

yeah. The only thing he does that I can't stand is troll for callers. Maybe Lance will reign that in.

The New Proper Gentlemen will be good if they can just leave out MT's dumbass music and game show skits. MT is brilliant when he gets on an actual sports topic, and he's a great interviewer.

Not Zierlein though: he's a great researcher and writer, but must have some serious ADD, because get him in an interview with someone on the air and half the time is spent setting up the question with much of LZ's own personal background included. He just drags it out forever. He's brings a lot of Houston sports history to the table, though; but save it for normal on-air chatter. LZ is also the white boy king of everything R&B, so you know that's like some extra street cred for my man.

So in summary, steer clear of: MT's music and game shows; and LZ's hip-hop fakeness, what his kids are up to, and his completely dumbasserific Pablo Prigioni voice that sounds like that stupid fly character from Star Wars episode 1.

I can't believe so many people like Charlie. He may have a deep knowledge of sports, but I cannot stand listening to the guy.

I think Palillo is great. I could see why some might not like him, but he's talking on the radio and you can turn it off. It's not like you're actually spending time with him.

I listened to LZ and MT a bit this morning. It was good. I find MT annoying as hell (so I turn him off) but he seemed to play off Lance pretty well.

Add me to group that isn't a Clanton fan. I guess I am avoiding sports on the lunch break since my choice is Clanton or Mad Radio. I generally got the feeling that Lance did not like the dude and would argue / make him look stupid just because. Now Lance & Matt are long time friends and you can tell on air. They give and take shots pretty good. Thomas is going to have to tone down his goofy game show host crap, but he seems to be doing a good job so far. I guess they'll be taking more callers in the morning now. Not a huge fan of that. This makes a lot more sense than Lance & Charlie experiment from a few years ago.

AJ is bad but Fred is usually pretty objective about the Ags.

I like their show because they don't take themselves too seriously and have fun. Plus, a significant portion of their show is less sportsy and more entertainment which I appreciate.

AJ is bad but Fred is usually pretty objective about the Ags.

A) they suck at sports, if it isn't gambling or fighting their analysis is very very bad
B) fred acts like a 3 year old when someone calls them out on being terrible
C) AJ sounds like a giant dewsh and you just know he sits there and masterbates to pictures of vince young and jamal charles
D) i don't think either have played any organized sports in their life
