Guadalajara - pretty good Mexican food, and screens to watch pregame and/or March Madness

There are an abundance of quality restaurants within shanking distance of TC.

Go up to deli like counter order your Greek/Medeterrian type dishes, pick your sides and have a seat in front or back in full bar area. Not large selection, but good. At night live jazz. Meal for under $10 if remember right. Also store itself, fresh made pitas (like those tortilla machines at Mamacitas) and good shopping for Greek/Medeterrian foods (great desserts) and upstairs wines you wont see other places.


If just want a burger and beer, my standby for Astros games is always Home Plate, next to Minute Maid.

in the pavillions there is italian, tapas, mexican, seafood, steak, etc...take your pick.

The Grove is really close.

Grove is in a great location and is a nice facility, but the food has gone downhill. Went about a month ago w a group of 4 and everyone ordered soemthing different and they all sucked. Beard they changed chefs recently so maybe that had an effect.

Chose Guadalajara and really enjoyed it. Margaritas were were also very good. And of course, the best part of the evening, Mavs won! Great night!

If we knew you were a mavs fan, we would have suggested El Chapparal.

I guess that explains thinking Guadalajara is good Mexican food.

we did 3 forks - it was my first time there.

hands down, best steak experience I've had in the tine. i know, i know, V&As, Striphouse (easy Staff), etc... the cut was exceptional (had the 12oz fillet), the waitstaff was appreciative and attentive. i don't know why, but i was really moved by the tomato and onion offering - id never seen that before. now, its a little more casual than its top tier comp, so they might get a ding for that, but either way, i was extremely impressed. if you haven't been, i highly recommend you check it out.

The best food around Toyota Center is Huynh on the east side of 59.

I've always had positive experiences at III Forks.
