Go to the stores around Houston and find what you like. Get them to educate you on diamonds. Then go to Bluenile.com or Whiteflash.com and find the exact ring and diamond much cheaper (and tax free).
i will say first off, give chuckthejeweler your business.
if you can't do that, i went to a local shop in rice village and got a good education on diamonds then ultimately found what i wanted at bluenile. no complaints.
Bought mine from Chuck this last December and couldn't have been happier. He'll help you out in finding the right diamond while making it super easy and within your budget.

Chuck (5th C fine jewelry) has better prices than any store or website I looked at. If that isn't enough he gives you great advice from years of doing this stuff. He can also custom design and mold anything you can dream up if you want something really original.
Chuck is really a unique guy and the best place to go for wedding rings.
I double checked blue nile when I was getting a ring from Chuck, he definitely beat them. Also got a unique custom ring that she won't see on the hand of every 5th girl...
