Has anyone here used them? They are comparable to 3 Men Movers in cost, but Student Movers contacted me almost immediately while I had to wait over 24 hours to hear back from 3 Men Movers. At this point I am leaning toward going to Student Movers, but I am interested to hear about the experience that others may have had with them.

Horrible experience with them 5 years ago. Thought I was getting 3 Men Movers and didn't know they scheduled Student Movers. The guys showed up really late (they seemed to have forgotten the appointment), covered in hickies and wearing wife beaters while carrying Jack in the Box (looked completely unprofessional), didn't have a toll tag like they said they would so we had to take I-10 through construction at 55 mph AFTER they had to stop for gas and get cokes (thereby running up the clock), then they wouldn't take a check when the total ending up being more than the cash minimum.

Would NOT recommend. However, are most of those guys contractors anyway? You may have a different experience.

I've heard the guy who owns Student Movers is cray-cray.

I'm not 100% certain it was them (probably 10 variations of Student Movers out there), but I think they ripped someone I know off. Stole a bunch of video games/DVDs and such.

My good friend, who is an Aggie, runs a successful moving business in the area. I know he has pretty low overhead so I'm sure he's pocketbook friendly. He started the company while in school and has been growing successfully the past 4-5 years. Feel free to give him a shout.

I'm moving fromt the Wharton area to the Med Center. That might be a little out of his service area.

3 Men is the general consensus around here, I've used them several times and been very happy with them. Ask for Jaid's crew.
