Garth Brooks on Obama: I Love Him to Death

Tuesday, March 22, 2011
By Nicholas Ballasy

Grammy award-winning singer Garth Brooks told CNSNews.com that he "fully" supports President Barack Obama and that it must be "hell" serving as President of the United States.

Before his performance at the Points of Light Institute's ceremony honoring former President George H. W. Bush at the Kennedy Center on Monday, Brooks was asked if President Obama has lived up to his expectations.

"Yeah, I think what President Obama is finding out is all that we want to do, the system kind of doesn't allow the most powerful guy in the world to kind of do his job and I'm sure nobody's more frustrated than him to complete those promises that he did and I think he's trying his heart out. I love him to death and I fully support him and I just wish him well because it's got to be hell in that office," said Brooks.

Clearly he is talking about the Presidency in general. Take out the names, and this quote can be about any sitting POTUS, Democrat or Republican. Don't overlook that he was playing for Bush 41 too

I'll admit that George has it made. Must be nice to sit on your a$$ and have people write #1's for you all day. Still not convinced the guy can play guitar, but he doesn't have to. Like I said, the guy has it made.

To sum it up.......Garth does it for the music, George does it for the money.

wow AggieKIG, that post is full of FAIL.

First of all, Obama is clearly a POS; he is trying his best to make the US into euro 2.0....so why would anyone fully support a squirrely little dude like that? that just makes the argument against Garth right there.
I guarantee that George would like to punch obama right in the face if given the opportunity.

and yeah, i'm sure Garth's ridiculous fireball and laser show concerts were for the pure love of the music....the guy is a tool, plain and simple.

Aggiekig I am glad you finally showed up to the party to defend your boy garth.

I still don't see how you can back him though and this thread has proven the winner!

King George, no questions asked.

I'm sorry, but any guy that has to go through a name/alter-ego change (Garth Brooks to Chris Gaines) does not deserve to be compared to one of the greatest country music signers of all time.

That was my argument as well. Just google image chris gaines to have a laugh

The pics are funny, I'll give you that.

Say what you will about the whole Chris Gaines fiasco, but the guy sold 2 million+ albums, and had a top five hit on his first try in another music genere. That's just plain talent.

Speaking of doing something different, let's not forget that ol' George took a page out of the Garth playbook a few years back. See below.

At least the Chris Gaines album was in English....

I really thought this thread was a joke I didn't realize there were still people that think Garth Brooks made good music.

If Garth would have kept singing would he have 58 number ones? Did anyone listen to his album Scarecrow? He lost it fast. George voice has become deeper and stays good.

"King" George. Absolutely no question. Garth brooks had some good stuff early on, but he kind of turned into a dick as he grew older. George Straight is awesome and makes damn good country music (with the exception of some of the crappy songs he has made the past 5 yrs or so).

George is king for a reason.

Garth Brooks has made some good music and sold a ton of records but George is a legend....

George...not even close.

Garth is a gaywad...

Garth appeals to the modern day masses, that should tell you a lot. The same masses who are responsible for the complete and utter sh** we hear nowadays on the radio.
