How much does a membership to Redstone cost?

Does it include full 'country club' access?

I had this conversation with friends recently and none of us had any idea what something like this would cost (upfront payment + annual?)

They have a thread about country club memberships on there somewhere I believe.

100k initiation/ 1-3k a month would be my guess

^^ sounds about right. I think membership is limited to like 550 members.

For redstone? I strongly doubt that. That's what clubcorp charges

I think they are only in the $25K initiation range but I'm not sure on their monthly...I'd guess in the $500 range.

Also, it's a golf club, so they don't have "full country club amenities" - no pool, tennis, etc.

I'd look into the houstonian. Granted it is a little unusually variety of country club, but it has most of the ops wishes.

Co-worker played there 2 weeks ago and the 250/month is what they were charging for a 1 year jr. membership - not sure what all that includes access to but that is the number he was given. still have cart and caddie to pay for.

houstonian is great. family paid around $25k a few years ago. gives full access to redstone, so i assume redstone is the same

Something tells me that Houstonian fancies itself above Redstone....if I had to guess, I'd say the order goes:

Shadowhawk
Houstonian
Redstone
Blackhorse

with membership at each higher club having access to the lowers ones, but not vice versa

Its not really tiered with access being directional, but with that said, your list looks about right. Certain clubs have reciprocity agreements with other clubs (something to investigate before joining). Its nice for the clubs because they dont have to deny golf access etc to members when the course or facilities are being upgraded, so they retain more flexability then clubs with no agreement.

not tiered with access being directional? i'm not sure i understand what you are saying but my interpretation is that it is and only people with membership to shadow hawk can play any course. houstonian and redstone, from my understanding, can reciprocate to either course, but not shadow hawk. blackhorse is public so it's moot.

Thats what I ment. Its either shadowhawk which includes the others,or the "bottom" two that have reciprocity with each other. I ment its not directional in that the group owner doesnt rank redstone above or below the houstonian, but puts them but "under" shadowhawk.

RK, it's invite only. I think the initiation is only about $35,000 but the monthly dues vary. The course has no budget. Whatever is spent to keep the course in perfect shape, so be it. And then the members split that evenly. The money games out there are legendary. The money game doesn't end until the person losing says he gives. It's common for someone to lose $30,000 during a round. I've heard of up to $80,000 being lost on a single money game.

And that description, while humorous is fairly accurate. If you don't know where it is, you won't find it. And the old men do just hang out naked.

If you're a big shot, call Jeff Bagwell. He plays almost everyday. Make sure you call early before he hits the tequila too hard so he'll remember you called

He wasn't there ther other day. He was on the hole in front of me at Royal Oaks

I might have to find some way to sneak onto the course at Lochinvar to try and fish their water hazards. Supposedly there are some monster bass in them.

I have driven by that a million times and never knew it was there.

We saw some guy fishing there a few weeks ago. Pretty funny.

It's a neat course for sure. My only issue was they had no signs to tell you what hole you were playing...or which way the holes were. It's a bit of a maze.

I guess they don't care if we peasant non-members know where we're going.
