from the Chronicle:

Quote:

A witness on the scene, Tyrone, a local homeless that lives under 610 recalls being awoken by the splat of a male ejected from the overpass above. When he attempted to render aid, he noticed the deceased with a weenus in his mouth. He then recalled 'a guy that plays in that dome' screaming "my F***ing dick!" from above then the sound of gunfire.

I just gave Jetch a decade-late blue star for his post.

I used to play golf every now and then with Bucky Richardson, who was a QB on that team, and I asked him about it one day and his response was, "I'm not talking about it...ever. Let's move on."

This is definitely an All-Time/Tine Rumor, right up there with a certain VERY prominent news lady enjoying it in the caboose.

i don't think those rumors are anywhere near equivalent. the later likely being true about everyone posted in the traffic/weather thread.

Yeah, the Alm story and rumor was huge. All the other rumors / talk didn't reach that level - like which male news and weather guys liked the pole, which news legend and/or Rockets coach could be found sloshed at Kay's or Volcano, etc.

Ah, glorious times!

At one point, my friend and mentor was concurrently banned at Kay's, Volcano and Savage's... had three of the four corners of the Kirby / Bissonnet intersection covered. So, we just spent a lot of time at Kenneally's and The Ale House.

It's a sad story but Jeff Alm's Dick would be a great name for a Houston area band.

I remember going to an Oilers-Lions preseason game once. Oilers were down 26-21 late, Bucky was in, on 4th down he looks for a receiver, tucks it, runs about 7 yards, then stops and throws a touchdown pass, then went crazy when they called illegal forward pass on him.

You got a problem with Maquis II bro?

Man i love those frozen screwdrivers at volcano. Miss the Texas table and running in to Dave Ward at Kays. Savage's was great in the early 90s as an underage drinker. Two Rows was kind of fun and had a good happy hour in that similar area. Damn I'm old.

Two Rows may have had the worst beer in all of Houston.

Didn't Two Rows have dollar drafts on Wednesday night? I don't remember it being terrible but I was fresh out of school and broke so dollar drafts were delicious.

If I remember correctly they had pretty damn good pizza.

There wasn't exactly a craft beer scene in Houston back then.

I remember there was a "Rice Brewery" kind of brew-pub place and Two Rows. Also, wasn't there a Copper Tank in Houston for a while?

Used to go to 2 Rows in Rice Village, then next door for Indian food. 2 Rows was the only brew pub around, at least I thought they had their own beer. I know I went there before I started going to Saint Arnold's.

When I think back on Two Rows I can still taste the wonderful antiseptic flavor of each in house brew. While I thank them for laying the foundation of the craft beer movement in this city that we enjoy, that beer was awful. Like budweiser mixed with just a touch of lysol.

You could choke down their blonde and the price was right. For a while, there was a Cajun place in that circle that had super cheap crawfish. Then a Kubo's sushi.

And downstairs at Baker Street they had the hottest waitresses outside of scrip club in Houston.

Yep, they did, and their beer wasn't great but there weren't many options back then. The house yeast did have a soapy or antiseptic taste I guess.

Wednesdays for us were Mens Club $1.50 happy hour til 7, waitress we knew would bring a few beers right at 7 so we'd stay til around 8 and then hit Two Rows.

There was also Rock Bottom Brewery and Houston Brewery in the zenith of the Richmond strip era.

Agree that Two Rows beer wasn't great. $2 happy hour pints was a good value before moving on to Ginger Man or Volcano.

I like G-Man, but back then the 20-1 Male to Female ratio was a killer. And that one was usually the rare, unicorn that was a "hot" Rice chick surrounded by neckbeards and awkward dorks having their first beer.

That's why the 'Quis and Volcano were best - hot Cougar High sloots.

While I can see how it looks that way, someone alluded to the rumor on another thread on the GB and I did not know what it was. I googled it and this thread was like the 4th hit on the search.

Quote from the Chicago Tribune

Quote:

"I know everything about the accident you could know," Lance said. "Sgt. Moore has given me a few more facts that the papers don't know. I'm not going to discuss those. I know the whole story, and when my family wants to know, they can ask me."

"I don't want to know," his father interjected before Debbie and Betty said the same thing. "It doesn't matter."
