There was one, and I can't remember the name of it, somewhere on the Northwest side, that had two hot tubs in it, in the middle of the club. And there were cheesedicks that would actually go to the club and get into the hot tub. Seems like it was really decked out and had a 'strech limo' inside the club, it was a really big place. Anyone remember the name of that joint? This was late 80s, NW side of town.

The craziest thing I saw at Power tools was one night they had a real live Donkey out with the dayglo clad gogo dancers.

That underground porch that went out to Buffalo Bayou was some of the craziest h-town architechture too.

Numbers
Rich's
Jay Larkins(clear lake)
The Daquiri Factory was good fun way back when.
Rudyards
Rockafellers
Fitzgeralds
Red Square?(I think this is what Hommage morphed into)

Power (S)tools was top notch.
I saw a fake police raid in there.
I saw some dude wiring up a dryer tub and throwing in nuts & bolts just to hear the sound.

Scan - Fitz is still quite active; I'll be there Thur for the Toasters & Los Skarnales show. Griff's is still going also. Same with Rudz, Rich's.

There was a dump of a punk club sorta near where Warehouse Live is located now. They had no liquor license; you just paid a cover charge to hear local punk bands. What was the name of that place??

(Add The Island to the list.)

Power Tools! Damn, thanks man, for throwing that one out there. For years I've been trying to remember what the name of that club was.

And Fitzgerald's was the club across the street from Gilley's, right? That Venentoulias owned?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
my cousin and his buddy's used to go to Power Tools, along with DV8 and Deckadance (sp?)

I'm not old enough to remember 70s/80s other than what my parents/relatives told me, but here goes nothing (age: 29)

Fanny's
Blue Planet
Midnight Rodeo (on Long Point...at least I think that's what it was)
Nite Moves (spent way too much time before I was 21 there...why we drove from Katy out to there every Saturday I have no idea).

drivingwest - it wasn't the Axiom. It was older than that. It was around 1985-86. I saw bands like the Mellow Cats (teenagers at the time) and the Hates. They'd have like 10 bands in one night, rapid fire, one after the other on 2 stages. A great mosh pit. Concrete floor. It was on the east side of some n/s street, east of 59, but west of St.Emmanuel. Located in some abandoned warehouse, you entered through a loading dock.
