I like EJ's Pizza at Barker Cypress & 290. I always get their meatball sub. Don't go there if you are in a hurry though. They take forever!

+3 Locatelli's

I usually eat there every time I go up and see my parents who only live 5 minutes away

they have a buffalo chicken sandwich that is unmatched anywhere

Alicia's - muy bueno

Locatelli's - very good

La Parmagiana (on Grant near Malcolmson) - bring your own wine place, but their food is really good. You save a lot of money getting nice and drunk with your own wine.

Bertani Ranch Steakhouse - haven't tried it yet, kind of mixed bag from what I've heard on the neighborhood message boards

Cypress Station Grill (behind Target) - good food, nice and casual atmosphere

Newk's (for lunch) - good food, lots of m.i.l.f.s

Mama's Cajun Cuisine....in the shopping center behind Randall's at 290 and Barker Cypress. Great food! We eat there every Friday night.

We tried this place and thought it was only ok. Maybe a second try is warranted. We also tried the Italian place on 6 (near West), they messed up our order but what we did get was good. We were sitting in a non-smoking section, but the smoke came right over the divider and into our faces. But that could have been helped by sitting at a table and not a booth. They had a guy playing the piano, and that was nice.

Anyone tried the cajun place across 6 from Willies?

I'd like to see a little more selection in chain restaurants head this way - other than a steak place or Chilis. I'd love a Cheddars. I saw that the Goode Co. BBQ place is close to done. It looks huge. Is it any good?

Bertani's is the new fancy steak place.

Steaks are equal to that of Pappas.
Sides are a little bit lower.
Salad is included in price.
Desserts there are great.
Price comparable to Taste of Texas

zamani's on louetta

one or two miles northeast of 249....excellent mediterranean food.....lamb kabobs, spiced beef, hummus.....they even have a store attached to the restaraunt......quite a selection of ethnic foods & spices......and, if you're also in the market for a hookah, it's your one stop shop......

Awesome suggestions! I second all the good ratings on Locatelli's EJ's and PO's. Are there any mom and pop type diner places? Similiar to Goddsons in Tomball?

Perry's has more than one location, but I wouldn't call them a “chain”. There is one located on Cypresswood, east of 249.

I tried Mama's Cajun twice, but not at all impressed. 4 small shrimp on a po boy for about $13?

Give Romero's a 2nd try. Maybe it was a bad night somehow.

And PO's is great.

Jade Bamboo - Barker Cypress & 529 near Kroger
Rooster Chinese - 6 & West in strip center caddi-corner from Chick-fil-a
Manny's Greek Cafe - 6 & West in strip center with Sears Hardware
Bonsai - 6 just north of West in strip center with Blockbuster
Harris County Smoke House - 6 & 290 next to Shell station
Carl's BBQ - 290 outbound feeder either just before or just after Telge
Mexican Restaraunt by PO's - Telge north of 290. Don't remember the name but it was pretty good.
