If the announcement is at 6 I doubt its something as major as a retirement.

super bowl is typically a station announcement. shouldn't be an event (i.e., campound) because they don't want to take away from ticketstock. agree that it will be something lame like a new producer/ticket guy
Some people on Reddit are saying the hours will be changed to 6-9am.
6am start makes total sense but adding an hour to the mid day lineup is no bueno. Also makes sense why they would be making the announcement at 6am instead of prime drive time.

That's actually a big one. Three less segments a day, kills Gordo's corner, I bet they move the Ranch Report to somewhere else in the schedule bringing pain and suffering to drive-time.
We've been talking about the beginning-of-the-end on here for a while….this is one of the bigger signs pointing to it. Whether it be their retirement, or the station running out of money, this kind of time contraction to your most consistent ratings pull isn't a small move.
Yikes. I'm already down to only listening to Gordo segments and Bob led segments. Sounds like a way to cut Muser cost by 25% though in a dying format

I think it's because the Laddy wanted them to be locked in and sharp by 6am when ratings begin so he had them start a half hour early. I imagine back in the early days there were some serious risks of hangover, sleeping late, and general lack of enthusiasm first thing.

Back in the day they technically started at 5 but it seems like things never really got rolling until 5:30 at the earliest, sometimes 6.

Since those 3 are probably the highest paid, I wonder if they got a salary cut.
Given the state of terrestrial radio financially, I would have to think it's happening with a commiserate cut. They can sell this as scaling back as they get older, but I wouldn't be surprised if cumulus approached them first as a savings idea.

That is my assumption.
They went from having a terrible slot (sleep deprivation) to one that isn't all that bad. I'd take working from 6-9 every day.
There was almost certainly a negotiation on pay, the question is what it station driven to cut them back and Musers countered with ok but only for 3hrs or did they go to mgmt and say we only want 3hrs and we'll give you back $x.

I am genuinely going to be sad if they are getting rid of Gordo's Corner. Hopefully, they decide to move the replay segments to the 5:30 hour and keep the big 4 (Corner, Muse, 8:40, and O-Deck). No more time for David Moore. No more time for Upon Further Review.
