My beef isn't necessarily with the show, it is with each host. They are not skilled communicators, they have bad habits, too many errors and poorly constructed sentences. It is as if it is their first day on the air every single day. The one who actually has some skill and talent is Monty, the other two are an awkward mess.
I think 10am-1pm is pretty good, Donny is always good and Matt knows sports which is a good pairing. Yes Matt can be a bit much but at least he brings something to the table.
I think Corby and Dave have hit their stride. Sure they have their off days but overall the hardline is solid.

People look at ratings as the end-all be-all. Cumulus was and is bleeding cash. Yes, higher ratings will command higher advertising dollars, but there are only so many VINs to the give that guy in his underwear in the first place.

Letting expensive mid-day talent walk to prioritize drive time, even at the expense of ratings, was about bottom-line expenses, not top-line revenue. It's all about squeezing the last bit of life out of a dying industry.

Would never happen with Junior being the way he is but would love to see everyone leave the actual ticket and join up with their old colleagues to form a variety podcast network of sorts that does long-form episodes interspersed with some of the Saturday favorites from the bench. Gordo's buddy Dax would probably help.

What does Junior being the way he is have to do with it? Why would the rest of them be willing (hypothetically) to do this but he wouldn't?

I don't have any inside info or anything but have always generally felt like Junior isn't as entrepreneurial as the other top-tiers, fewer side hustles/projects, so I surmise that he would want the consistency of a steady paycheck. Complete conjecture with no solid basis in fact, to be sure.

Unfortunately, of my Ft Worth friend group who were all P1s, I would say there's 3/10 who still listen a lot. Most just listen to the Musers and then done for the day

It's a shame the musers are on at the same time as Sirois/Danny/KT. Those are the two best shows going

I checked in on all 3 today. The gordo redneck Luka was a beating but tons other musers segments were solid.

The Downbeat is on vacation so it was Pugs and Co on the Freak. Danny and Sirois back tomorrow

Shan and RJ get ratings for these same reason Stephen A and that ilk do. Have one person make a sports point and have the other argue against it. Such lowest common denominator programming

I have a high pain tolerance, still listen for most of the day. Every so often some good radio happens.
