Judge wasn't really buying any of the impacts to the ticket from a paywalled podcast. It seems that the tickets arguments center around proving that they are a media company that happens to do broadcast radio. They weren't able to shot in this hearing that they do any monetized podcasts that aren't just replays of their shows.
Yeah, the fact they have been allowing Gordon to do twitch, IJB to exist, they don't go after USaveit or the Unticket, etc shoots plenty of holes in their argument

Also thought DaJ attorney did a good job refuting the dumb zone causing everyone to think Cumulus is cheap with a simple timeline of when the emails were received and when the Dumb Sone podcast was released. And the drops "A Cumulus Station" when talking about anything cheap.

I also read all of Dan's testimony in Gordo's fake Dan voice.
I'm happy for Dan and Jake to have this behind them, but selfishly would have loved to live stream Dan on the witness stand being cross examined.

Man I hope that line shows up in some of these back and forths with an attorney. That would land in one of my favorite moments ever in following the Ticket.

Surely that Washington Post story helped their numbers. A longer fight with Cumulus might've helped them in the long term too.

It will be tough, but not impossible, for them to replace their earnings like for like. My hope is they're able to sell their podcast to another platform to ease their support costs.
Radio industry is a tough spot to be these days and I can't imagine trying to crowd into the podcast world…

I haven't seen anything official (was there anything in the TRO transcript?), but I think Jake was around $150k and Dan around $250-300k. Right now on Patreon they're at about $420k annualized about 2 months in. In my mind there's no way that their end goal is just Patreon. So theyre already not far from their Ticket salaries, will likely pursue additional revenue streams, and have the added bonus of not having to deal with Cumulus or the two buffoons in charge.
I barely listen to 1310 since HZ left. They were by far my favorite show. Also not paying for DZ. Plenty of free podcast content keeping me busy

I hate Jake so I never liked the Dumb Zone. I miss BAD radio though.
I listen to the Musers and I'm slowing easing away from Hardline lately.
I really want to see Cat and Dan Bennett fail though with what all came out in the depositions

High level math for a finance person making $200K would be
Salary $200
Annual Bonus - $50
Long Term/Equity - $50
Insurance - $30
401K Match - $20
So the math would say that salary would only be ~60% of total comp. The would need a lot more subscribers if they have similar comp.
Maybe you take out the bonus and make it appearance fees/sponsorships?

I've tired on the misers over the years. Never listen to them anymore. I listened to every hang zone episode (on delay but I'd listen at some point during the week). I now only listen to the hardline. I will say that I have grown to like the hardline (but not near as much as the hang zone) but I just skip over the community quick hits and e-news segments which should be put to pasture (and any other segment that I don't want to hear).
I still pretty much listen all day with the exception being 1-3, I jump over to the freak during that time.
Have any of yall done the Lejitas golf trip? Coming up in Dec and I'm considering it.
I go to lajitas every year but not with the ticket. It costs about $2k for flights, accommodations and 3 rounds of golf. Flights and golf are amazing! Accommodations are like b/cs in the late 90s... fine but nothing to brag about. If you went on the ticket trip you would definitely get to know the hosts cause there is nothing around the course for miles and miles

I have not listened in a couple of years but Corby used to go on at least some of the trips before COVID.powerbelly said:
