With you. That phrase is overused these days. Others that tweak me:Legal Custodian said:Bob says that a lot too and it really grinds my gearsThe Pilot said:

Here's an article about it: KLUV Is Now '98.7 The Spot' As EMF Gains K-Love Branding Rights In Dallas.Vince Blake said:double aught said:KLUV 98.7. There was some legal issue with them using the name "K Love" so they changed. Same format.Ag CPA said:
WTF is The Spot?
I didn't know that. Well damn…it's like part of my childhood just died. I feel like anyone who grew up in this area in the 80s had to endure a back-and-forth between KLUV and WBAP as a kid while in the car with their folks.
Quote:
The rebranding is reportedly the result of an intellectual property swap between Audacy and Educational Media Foundation, which was part of EMF's purchase of WTSS Buffalo and WLFP Memphis. When the $15.5 million sale was announced in April, the two parties agreed to an intellectual property assignment that was not included in the public-facing asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC.
With Audacy having the rights to KLUV, EMF has been unable to utilize its "K-Love" branding in the Dallas market, where it owns KYDA (101.7), which airs the Christian broadcaster's "Air1" network. With KLUV now identifying as "98.7 The Spot," EMF has the option to launch a "K-Love" affiliate in the market.

I feel sorry for Bob. I can't even listen to him anymore as Corby kills the show. I want Sportssturm not Rolling Stones Corby.

I tend to tune out the most during Cowboys segments, especially as the day moves along and I've already heard more about the previous game than I actually care about. It's not going to help when the hosts aren't guys that I would normally listen to about any other topic. My listening between 10-3 has been almost 0%.
Same here. Turn off Musers when the corner ends. Actually focus on work from 9:30-12. Then turn on Dumb Zone podcast at noon - it's certainly not the same as cross talk leading into the HZ open, but it's a decent enough facsimile.DallasAggie89 said:sixiron said:

I'm with you, especially the not listening much between 10-3.
I was begging for Norm to retire for years, definitely a careful what you wish for based on his replacement. And boy do I miss the Hang Zone.

Signed up for Sturm's substack. Don't think I will listen to the ticket outside of the morning show going forward. Between dumb zone podcast and the content on substack, there isn't much left on the little ticket. Death of a station in slow motion.

Well their ratings have a long way to go before the ticket is dead.

I'm pretty naive on ratings but isn't it based on percentage of people listening (share)? I'd be curious if their over all number of listeners has fallen through the years even though their percentage of listeners has stayed flat or climbed.

NCIS and CSI shows have great ratings as well…
If you don't mind waiting a bit, search for Youtube user SportsSesh (i think that's it) and if you don't mind waiting a day he posts something called "The Ticket Steak" which is basically highlights of each day. He'll post it late at night/early morning. The first hour of each one is O-Deck, Muse, 840 bit, and the Corner.MW03 said:

I'm guessing they have to pick some from every show, but man. Not a single "Muse in the News" or "Gordo's Corner." No "E-News" or "Snake Pit." Do they want that only to be available live so people still tune in? Meanwhile, they have every single show's multiple segments on the Cowboys wherein they all say the exact same thing. Anyone here interested in two segments on Nick Bosa's contract?
It's like they are intentionally trying to make it hard to hear their most popular stuff.

Earlier this year, before Dan and Jake left I believed the stationed had the best #s they have ever had. I think it's come down a bit since then but still would be considered very strong.
