the rub for me is this; let's say they do cease and desist on the podcast. hell, i bet they'll actually keep a decent amount of subscribers.

and in 5 months, they go to the freak, and it's on. the ticket will then have something very interesting to contend with.

cumulus should have just let this go, imo. i don't think d&j are stealing listeners, per se, but they sure as heck will if they go to the freak.

Would the freak put them in the 1-3 slot? That's probably the only slot that would make me switch over. Maybe 10-1 but definitely not the musers or hardline.

Im not saying it would be easy but the hardline isn't what it once was. I think they would pull market share in afternoon drive. Would they eventually win idk, but they could for sure put a dent in the hardline.

The dude hasn't been to any of the big 3 Hall of Fames because:

1) They're out of the way
2) He hasn't had the time

For most of his adult life he was a single man with no kids who hosted a sports talk show that afforded him disposable income.

They're not that far out of the way and he absolutely had the time. Both of his co-hosts have been either on their own or through the station. He could have easily have found a way if he wanted to.

He's just not curious and is a recluse.

He did say he was embarrassed but he's not really that embarrassed. He just said that because it was mentioned.

I assume the third big 3 is Basketball? I don't actually know where that is. But I also don't really care about basketball and I'm not a diehard childhood spurs fan.

I really wanted to go to Nowitzki's HOF induction, but I gave it up after looking into it. The cheapest ticket was $150 for second balcony, and you didn't get access to any of the events whatsover. The cheapest seat that got you into the gala was like $1000.

Conversely, the baseball HOF induction ceremony is free (for lawn seats) and then you can spend the weekend in Cooperstown attending meet and greets that are interesting to you.

Cooperstown is the only one I would even consider going to and it's not exactly close to anything else. I can see why he has no interest when there are so many better places to travel.

My wife and I spent 2-3 hours in Springfield on a New England road trip. We enjoyed it for the short time there as it was not just the pro hall of fame but everyone. Plus you get to shoot hoops on the floor in-between exhibits.

We made the drive up from NYC to Lake Placid and then hit Cooperstown on the way back. Pretty decent road trip. You could also fly into NYC, drive over to Cooperstown, then on to Niagara Falls, and fly home from Buffalo.

College Football Hall of Fame was pretty awesome in Atlanta. Visited it when we played in Athens 5 years ago or so.

And I've been to the NHL Hall of Fame in Toronto and that was a lot of fun. That was back in 2005 or so, so I bet it's even better now.

While I do find it odd that he hasn't been to any of the three, I'd hardly call Junior a "recluse" with all of the traveling he has done over the years.

the way I understand it shares don't reflect losing audience to alternative mediums and cume is a better metric for that.
