The easiest way to make Peter King segments more entertaining would be to actually follow through on the suggestion to "mark that and play it for Peter King" whenever one of the Musers asks a ridiculous question during a Gordo segment.

Or play the Peter King Drinking game…take a drink every time he coughs or clears his throat on air. You'll pass out by Muse In The News.

I read somewhere (generic) that, for what they pay Peter King, the producers/board ops could have a nice bonus check. If true, that's another fumble for management.

Does Bob ever talk about soccer anymore? I haven't listened in years but was curious if that went away on the switch to drive time. Or maybe I'm misremembering that he used to talk about it all.

I'd pay $5/month if they don't play Peter King and instead just use that segment for Gordo to troll JubJub with Rick Skinlonin and/or construction tips from Randy Coate.

Have always wondered what they pay regular guests. In my head I've always thought that Troy has to be close to if not at 6 figures while guys like Joel Klatt might be $25 - 30K and "lower tier" guys (think Razor, though I love him) maybe around $10 - 15k? And then I could see somebody like the Goose doing it for free because they're bored and/or people no one really cares to tune in for.

I know at one point TC said they pay guests more than board ops or ticker guys.

Dave and Corby have been waiting to have that segment on the Aggies for years.

I'm glad Corby let me know that we've paid Jimbo "hundreds" of millions of dollars.

I had to tune out, highlights? Or should I say, lowlights.

Nothing particularly unfair. Corby and Davey tried to paint Bob as the pro-Aggie homer, but Bob was just as critical of Jimbo

Davey joined the hardline a few months ago. Great point

Corby was adamant that outside of his national championship and the 9-1 COVID year that Jimbo is a very average coach. Then went on to say that this is year 5 and A&M shouldn't be having these issues on the lines. And that we have the 1st, 9th, 6th, and 3rd ranked classes on campus.

There was a good back and forth with Bob and Davey when Bob said something to the effect of "Oh so now they've been recruiting lights out this entire time, because I was told back in February that this class was completely out of the ordinary."

Davey didn't like that line cause he started in on Bob saying "Aggie Bob" was in his defensive stance defending the Aggies. Bob had a retort asking what does Corby and Davey want him to say? He said the scheme and QB are terrible and needs to be changed and said it was an absolutely inexcusable loss, what more does someone have to say and not be considered to be defending the Aggies?

Said he expects Max Johnson to start. Corby had more of the normal stuff like Aggies are in over their heads and we have our hands tied cause Jimbo is guaranteed hundreds of millions of dollars. And that all Aggies care about right now are recruiting rankings but the bloom will definitely be off the rose in the next 5 games.

That last part is classic Corby nonsense. Either (a) dumb Aggies only care about recruiting rankings and are thrilled with Jimbo's performance, or (b) dumb Aggies signed Jimbo to a billion dollar contract and can't fire him now even though he's terrible. Somehow in Corby's mind it's both.

I'd say the lowlights were the actual game. Nothing said on the radio can even come close to being that bad

With that product on the field Saturday, they probably let us off easy. I did like Bob's lines of "I'd go with a quarterback that can run an offense" and "you're not a dual threat if you can't throw."

You're not a duel threat if you're not a threat to run either.

I don't think I've listened to the HL more than five minutes here or there since mid-July. Podcasts, mostly CFB podcasts, have filled the void nicely.

I'll listen to the HL sometimes when I'm in the car, but certainly not as much as when Mike and Greg and yuck monkey Corby were on the show. I still think management screwed up by not moving BaD Radio to afternoon drive.

I listen to the Hardline, and enjoy it. I feels like they've hit their stride a bit lately, now that they've all been together finally.

I do with Sirios was still on the station though...and think he'd have been fantastic addition to the HL.

I thought it was pretty fair segment. It did highlight that its nice to have Bob on there though. Anytime Corby and Davey started going off the rails he countered them with facts (the recruiting line, the Sumlin comparison, when Corby called the Florida team we beat covid year terrible just to name a few) while still being rightfully critical.

Mike would just sat there and agreed with them while he pissed himself and read over his steely dan article for the next segment.

Management is buddies with Corby. They would never move him to midday.

BAD Radio / Hangzone getting their flu shots on air is somehow an awesome segment every year.

Flu shots + casually flipping through a porn mag makes for oddly compelling radio

Corby is why I haven't listened to the HL in a very long time...and won't moving forward.

Dan is the best instigator. Different than Gordo but equally genius.

Good discussion of the SEC, and future scheduling today.

Without a doubt, I am in the camp who enjoyed being separated from texas, and would rather not be in their pod. I'm fine playing them from time to time, along with other SEC teams, but I do not want to be tied at the hip with them again.

I've enjoyed an identity away from them, and they couldnt stand that we left them for greener pastures.

If OU and texas dont want to be separated, like Corby suggested...fine by me. Have at it. I'd rather be in a different pod.

Jimbo spilled the beans this summer we're going to play Texas, LSU, and Miss St annually. There aren't pods and each team will have their own three. Texas, LSU, and Miss St will have different than us.

As for the news today you can bet it's all because of the number that Texas and Bama drew. ESPN wants to hold those numbers for SEC play. There might be some debate if they'll help pay the early exit but more than anything ESPN doesn't want Fox to have any of those numbers.

Really? I hadnt seen that.

Was he surmising, or said that is decided?

I guess I'd be ok with that, because it's better than texas, OU and Arky/Mizzou...but I'd prefer to be separated from texas.

Ross Bjork also said as much before the season started. I'm okay being paired with those 3 teams annually. I definitely didn't want to be in a group of t.u. OU and Arky/Mizzou as it would feel like we were just in the Big12 again. Mainly cause I have no hatred of OU like I do LSU and am completely indifferent on Mizzou. And Mississippi State is enough in the deep south that it would feel like we're still in the SEC.
