Yeah, that was very, " I went to TCU..."

Yeah, I think Corby is taking this very personal and trying to prove a point. I think as much of an ass that Corby can be on air he's a genuine person.

Absolutely 0 has been said so far that's new. Just mainly confirming certain things in the article. And some positioning statements on why danny/corby did not interview for this.

danny is my leader and i trust him

I figured this is how it went down, but it's nice to hear it from the source ... Good stuff.

Greggo was purposefully laying out and brought it up several times to management so they had tons of meetings but would never engage.

Edit: I'd be super pissed too if someone was making a big deal out of something but wouldn't do anything about fixing it when offered.

no matter how you feel about greggo's on-air personality or the sympathy you may feel for him, in the end the guy is a lying drug addict who was given numerous chances. i doubt there is a single one of you who would act or feel differently if you were in danny, corby or rhynes' position.

Since both the Hardline and Musers are gone for drydock. How long will we have to deal with the bag of nothing that is Ben and Skin, etc?

Exactly.

I feel bad for Greggo, but sorry, I trust whatever Mike and Corby and Danny say over what Greggo says. He doesn't exactly have much credibility. This whole thing is just sad.

Another vote for the Hardline. Reading the story yesterday there were some things said by Greggo that just weren't sitting right. It was all reeked of addict speak. Danny, Mike, and Corby have all validated what I, and probably most of the metroplex, was thinking. No ill will to Greggo in the future, but maybe a little dose of reality will help him to become a better person, not someone who deflects the consequences of his actions and decisions to others.

did any one catch what rhyner said about its the second worst thing to happen to this station and he won"t say what the other is?

any clues on what it could be?

This was new crucial information. After reading the article I thought Greggo calling out Rhyner for focusing on Corby too much was just bitter talk in hindsight, but it turns out that this was a serious issue that had been going on with managament involvement for the past 4 years. It lends further credence to the idea that they were ready for him to go after a long pattern of lying and deception, and the cocaine deal was just the final straw. Apparently things really started changing for the worse in '03-04, then the thumb stomach surgery in summer '04 was the 1st major flash point.

^^^^ That was my first thought, but there's no way Rhynes would let that turd get him nearly as riled up as Greggo, I don't think. But then, I can't think of anything else, other than Skip's departure in the early days.

This whole article is just Greggo positioning for trying to get back on the air with ESPN. He knows that any chance he had to get any of his former fans back is to make himself look like the victim in this whole ordeal and make the rest of the Ticket look like the bad guys. The timing of this whole thing (9 months later) makes it obvious.

I tend to agree.

Seems like he wants forgiveness for doing coke, but wants to lay the blame at the other hosts feet for driving him to do it in the first place.

The guy needs help in more ways than just drug rehab.

I won't listen to him on ESPN. Hell, it's not even programmed into my radio anymore.

Greggo was pregnant?

How would you like to be the call screener for the first few months if Greggo's on ESPN 103.3?

I just don't it happening as 103.3 would have already done it. Greggo didn't exactly help himself with that Doocy appearance as he further proved he still had a big bag of nothing.
Jeff99

I could see 103.3 doing it and this article just makes it more likely in my eyes. 103.3 has to do something...anything...to gain interest. Heck, I'd probably tune in the first couple of months just to hear the callers.

I don't feel like Greggo has pinned any of the drug issues on the other guys. He certainly has battled insecurity, and an inferiority complex, for years that he casted on both Rhyner & Corby in the article. Even then, though, he did admit to feeling intimidated by Rhyner's pedigree. However, I do think Greggo has been mostly honest with himself about the source of his drug problem.

In the end, I think we can all agree that we're sad to see the thing dissolve like it has. We'll always have the "good ol' days" to reflect on... whether Greggo was more important to you for his sportsiness or his opinions on women.

Can you imagine being the Chris Chris who got Greg Williams addicted to cocaine and cost him his sweet job? I imagine he was hooked by a dealer who doesn't really care, but I like to imagine it's a guy with a soul who feels kinda bad about it.

yes. i know what it's like to have a great history w/ a friend and then to have them continually do things to abuse your trust, loyalty and friendship. it's just like being in a bad relationship...at some point your sanity and happiness has to win out over the historical fuzzies that you may feel towards that person. it doesn't mean that you don't have sympathy for them or that you wish them ill will. it's simply a matter of it being a time to move on. that's what apparently happened here.

the telling thing to me is when he said he wasn't hurting anyone else by his addiction...only himself. if he is so screwed up and delusional that he can make a statement like that and believe it, after all the (supposed) second chances, reaching out by the other hardliners AND his own admission of addiction, then it was definitely time for them to cut bait.

A dealer didn't get him hooked.

A friend didn't get him hooked.

He got himself hooked. He cost himself his job. He cost himself his friendships.

blah blah blah. You get my point. Can you imagine being the guy who gave it to him in the first place. Is that better? My definition of dealer was a little loose there too. I basically meant that it was probably some guy he'd never really met before who knew one or more of his "friends".

fair enough. I will try not to get hooked on cocaine, start getting nosebleeds all over your car, lying and stuff... assuming I start bumping into you again somewhere.
